It used to be that if I had a craving for some chicken nuggets/fries, I'd head over to McDonald's or Popeyes, and spend at least $12 for a meal.

No more.

This large bag of chicken strips costs only $9.99 at Walmart, and has probably 50 strips. That's 20 cents each.

I also got a large bag of crinkle cut fries for only $5.77. One portion is about 1/10, so about 57 cents.

Just pop them in the air fryer for 9 minutes, and they came out so delicious! Very crispy and flavorful, pair with your favorite sauce (barbecue for me).

Four strips (80 cents) plus fries (57 cents), means you can have a quick, delicious meal for only $1.37, 1/10 of what you would pay at a fast food place.

I would say that even on their own, they're at least as good as the fast food places, but because they are freshly air fried, they are even better.

Honestly, how did it taste? I buy chicken strips from M and M. A little to bready for me but the meat inside appears to be better quality than others.

Cripes there are healthier options.

I make different meal reps to freeze. Use my slow cooker to make soups, stews, and pasta sauce and then freeze and date them.

Also I will do a Ramen with lots of veg(celery, carrot, onion, mushroom, red pepper and the like) with a piece of leftover meat. Takes about the same time to make.

Honestly , really good.

The seasoning was on point, and were crispy outside snd tender inside.

McDonald’s is hit or miss, depending on how fresh the nuggets are.

And the crinkle cut fries in the air fryer came out great, crispy outside and fluffy inside.

To me, this isn’t like buying frozen pizza to save on delivery. The chicken strips and fries are actually better, fresher. and it’s so fast and convenient, at 1/10 the cost.

I try to minimize breaded fried foods, but I do enjoy breaded sole once a month. .For breaded items and egg rolls I put them in the micro wave for a minute before I put them in the air fryer. This speeds up the cooking time and the insides are not cold.
