Normally I watch all the PPV UFC, but this one is not really appealing to me. I think that Liddell win crush the Dean of Mean, and Rua will crush Griffin. The Fitch Sanchez fight might be good.

I am thinking of going to the UFC in Cincinnati on October 20, just because it is a reasonable drive, and the dollar is at par. Anyone else thinking of going?

Kreskin I am not. They were both good fights, it appeared that Rua could have won, but he ran out of gas just after he opened up the giant cut. I think you will see lots of people right-kicking Lidell from now on, he had no defence for it.

Uggh. I'm going to stop predicting fights. If I didn't know any better, it's like Dana had fixed the fights. At this rate Franklin will beat Anderson Silva cause it's a hometown crowd.

It wouldn't be so bad if Forrest, Machida and Jardine had really stepped it up a notch and beat the big names, it just seems like the big names had dumbed down thier games a notch.

Oh well, a win is a win.

The Liddell/Jardine fight....That fight was all Jardine...He deserved the win....Chuck may be proving the critics right in that he's a one-dimensional fighter who could only beat low level strikers...
The "Dean of Mean" came in with decent but basic (and awkward) head movement and good roundhouse kicks (especially to the leg) and just outfought the Iceman....

The Shogun/Griffin fight....
Just a guess but I think that Shogun got injured during the fight...Thinking it might be a rib injury like the Penn fight against Hughes....the injury may have happened in the end of the first round or the beginning of the second....
When Griffin gained side mount on Rua in the third..Shogun grimaced like he was in a huge amount of pain...
Guess we will find out in the next couple of days....

A couple of more things....

Kind of funny that the event was called "Knockout" but there's wasn't one KO in the whole event....:p

Tyson Griffin and Thiago Tavares was the best fight of the night....

Great job by Jon Fitch on neutralizing Diego Sanchez and his ground game....Well deserved win by Ftich....

It's a good time to be making a road trip to the States but I wonder who else is going to be on that card. All the top guns at the UFC have fought recentley or are scheduled to fight soon so they cant be on it: GSP , Hughes, Serra , Jackson, Henderson , CroCop , Couture, Liddell . Tim Silvia is not popular and fans basically dont even want to watch him fight, so you have one main event:"Spider" vs. Franklin. Sherk is suspended so the lightweight division is halted. Ortiz vs. Evan 2 ?

Extremely boring night. UFC is getting more and more lame. Rua should be ashamed of himself. So should Diaz. Jardine was value in his win although it was a snooze. Sad to see Wandy in the crowd. This means he's really signed on with UFC and should fight in January I suppose probably against Alexander, Nakamura, Sobral, Evans, Hamill, Bisping, or someone else with a decent name before he launches into the likes of Liddell or Jackson. I'd love to see him fight Tito but even UFC couldn't be that cruel ;)

Great news!!! BoDog and Hardcore are doing a card in Calgary soon featuring Fedor and Minatoro. Should be good.

Yes, it is a lightweight card. It is cheaper too. I don't think they will add any big names, normally they don't. So it is Franklin, Silva and Silvia, and whoever they fill in the undercard with.

I didn't watch this UFC and to be honest, I'm having a hard time getting excited over a UFC event these days. I don't know if it's the rules, the atmosphere, or what (hey, it could even be that I stopped training), but even with some of my favourite fighters signed (Rampage, Shogun, Wandy) I'm just not that interested. Granted, there has been some good fights this year (Edgar vs Griffin comes to mind), but overall, the fights have been boring and none of the matches have been epic. Btw, Penn vs Sherk I would have been very interested in but alas ...

After watching some epic battles in Pride...it is hard to get excited watching any UFC event....

Unfortunately, Dana White and his UFC is the only game in town right now...
Hopefully, there will be a legitimate competitor sooner than later...Rumours are they're might be a new version of Pride coming out in Japan....

Until then...I'll still watch the UFC because I'm a fan for life through thick and thin even though it hurts just to watch some the events.... (just like watching the Leafs):(
