Dragons' Den TV star Duncan Bannatyne today shocked Twitter followers by offering £50,000 to anyone who could identify - and break the arms of - a sinister tweeter who threatened to harm his daughter.

The self-made millionaire became embroiled in a row this afternoon after receiving a string of anonymous threats via the micro-blogging service

He responded by posting: 'I offer £25,000 reward for the capture of the coward who calls himself @YuriVasilyev_ Double if his arms are broken first'. :biggrin1:

Although Mr Bannatyne later withdrew his threat, the entrepreneur said 'I'd gladly do my time' to get revenge on the anonymous tweeter. His revised post then said: 'OK, £30,000 reward for info leading to his arrest'.

The TV star received a series of tweets from someone calling himself Yuri Vasilyev, linking to a message threatening to harm Hollie Bannatyne, 25

The drama began yesterday, when he received a message from the Twitter account @YuriVasilyev_ which linked to a message about Holly.
It read: 'Dear Dragon. My name is Yuri Vasilyev and I'm looking for a £35,000 investment to stop us hurting your Hollie Bannatyne. We will bring hurt and pain into your life.
'We are watching her. She is very attractive. Want photos? Tweet using the hashtag £4money to confirm payment will be made.'

Despite Vasilyev's claim to be from Belarus, Mr Bannatyne has said that he believes him to be in Moscow.

Bannatyne's latest message to Vasilyev reads: 'Go home to your mum and cry we are closing in on you little boy'. That message was also later deleted.

Threats of extortion, blackmail, kidnpapping, and putting out a hit on someone are no laughing matter. Both should get punished. Likely only Mr. Bannatyne will be though. he should know better than to sink to the level of YuriVasilyev.

There is humour in this. First of all no one was actually hurt. Secondly, how many TV stars twitter their thousands of followers offering to pay them if they break a prick's arms? Best this week was when Gwen Paltrow tweeted "who do I have to bang to get an advance copy of the new Coldplay album?" Thirdly, being a TV star/personality, he could just tell investigators he was joking and didn't really mean it. Fourth, there is humour in the fact that after his lawyers tell him to take it down he keeps taking it down and changing it and making it less offensive. Like, "Ok (on advice of my lawyers) the deal is just a reward for capturing him (they insisted I remove the bonus pay if he falls and breaks his arms during capture bit). Plus his later threat about closing in on him - while he implies it is thugs working for him in the tweet he probably just means the police are closing in, as they take threats against TV stars seriously.

You might want to mention her husband is the lead singer of Coldplay.

Ok, but I think everyone already knows that. When Gwen finally tied the knot most guys took notice.
