TIto won the first... Lost a point in the second.

Rashad won the 3rd... tito looked exhausted at the end of the round.

DRAW
... not a good fight for either of them

I guess this means Rashad is still undefeated!

Surprisingly, Tito was all class at the end.

Looking forward to Tito v Rashad II!

Silva wins TKO first round

5-3-1 on the night.

I enjoyed watching all the matches but I thought the Evans Vs. Ortiz fight would be a lot better.

The Evans Ortiz fight was the worst of the night, huge disappointment after all the hype, hopefully the second go round will be better. Other than that a good night of fights, although Herring in the first fight let a hug opportunity slip by letting Minotauro stand back up when he had the chance to finish. Silva was very impressive in finishing his fight in the first.

I watched it at a local sports bar. Sherk just layed onto of Franca and rode him the entire fight. I think they should test Sherk for drugs, he ate about 4 flying knees to the chin at 100% force and still didnt get KO. I can't see how anyone can take such a strike time after time and not be out. I think his game plan was to crowd Franca and ride him and win the decision which he did but it wasnt an impressive fight for a champ. I had Hermes Franca to win by KO all the way but Sherk would just shoot in and take him down.

I also think Tito should retire, he isnt the dominent fighter he once was and its showing more and more. That ground and pound game doesnt work very well with todays all around fighters. It only works with the Shamrocks that are even more out of date fighting skillz wise then Tito. I couldnt beleive that Tito was the same weight as Evens, Tito looks at least 15lbs heavier then Rashad.

Not bad of a card all around though.

Do you know if there are any bars in the downtown area that show the fights?

Crazy,
I agree, Minotauro wasn't defending himself and if Herring just landed a few more shots the ref may have stopped the fight. But I gotta give it up to Minotauro for staying in the fight.

Tito always had entertaining fights but I do think he is a little washed up.

They're the same weight the day before during the weigh in......Some fighters can add quite a lot of weight between the weigh-in and the fight....

Also Rashad could fight as 185 pounder and Tito could fight as a Heavyweight.....

.
He put an arm up to slow down some some of the blows and Herring seem to run out of ideas for a moment. He might have lost track of the clock, if there were another 20 seconds left, he might have KO'd by making him get back up on wobbly legs

PM Toronto at Dufferin & Dupont usually has UFC shows. Hoops on the north-west side of Yonge & College usually had UFC ppv's on, although it's been a while since I passed by their window.

I think that Minotauro is the second best ultimate fighting heavyweight in the world, next to Fedor.

Minotauro did a good job of defending himself while groggy. That kick he leaned into definately connected with the off button.

Herring should have pressed more, same thing with Franca after the knee to Sherk in the second round. There was a very narrow window of opporunity to knock out Minotauro and Sherk that night.

I agree that Herring ran out of ideas. He also looked gassed. He kept trying the kick again with no set up, hoping for lightning to strike twice.

Andrei Arlovski is up there. IMO Minotauro did not look very impressive at all. Really he should of lost that fight to a wayy lesser skilled Herring. At the end of the 1st round Herring caught him with a very lazy/ poor techniqued kick which IMO KO'd Minotauro. But since Herring is a knuckelhead he didnt jump on him and rain elbows/punches until the ref stopped it. Herring gave that fight away 100%. The only thing he has going for him is that he's one tuff son of a bitch. He cant punch/kick of grapple.

How can you say Franca should of pressed more?
He landed several knees/punch's to Sherks chin plus almost broke his neck a few times. Its hard to press a fight when youre opponent is a juggerknot on roidz. Sherk is a champion wrestler who can keep almost anybody in the world (in his weight class) on their back if wants to. I think Franca did a great job of avoiding big punchs and getting choked out. he was so good on the ground that Sherk looked scared to loosen up his holds in fear of Franca submitting him off a counter. Sherk jus rode him and went for the points.

I think Big Nog looked pretty good on Saturday....Maybe not his best fight but he look pretty good.....He definitely dominated the fight (standing and on the ground) and if it wasn't for him being sloppy at the end of the first he would have won that fight easily.....

Nogueria just got caught....Got a little careless did the same thing that knocked out his little brother (Lil Nog) against Sokodju....He threw a hook and looked into the direction of the punch and away from his opponent and dropped his covering hand...He literally almost ate that kick.....Lucky for him Herring can't throw a proper kick Thai Kick or he would have been knocked out like Crocop....

Herring did try to finish the fight but Nog was able to recover even in his half knocked out state...It appeared that the Brazilian was about to pull guard and smother Herring's attack.....
As a result Herring got up and tried to finish it standing.....
Herring should just tried to throw some wild and heavy haymakers and hope for the best (or clinch and knee)....

I think Herring other key attribute is his size and strength....The fight wouldn't have gone to decision if it wasn't for that....

As for top heavyweights.....

Don't forget Crocop, Barnett, Kharitonov and Aleksander Emileanko....
I would put all those guys above Arlovski....

Maybe Gonzaga and Brandon Vera as well.....

I really think that Crocop should be ranked above Nogueria.....I think he could beat Nog (especially under Pride rules).....Leg kicks from Crocop would destroy Nog (he barely handled Herring's weak leg kicks)....The BTT guys don't seem to want to learn how to block leg kicks....

I really think that the UFC should lobby NSAC to bring in Knees to the head when the person is on the ground.....I would trade knees to the head for elbows....
It would definitely make the fights more exciting and make it harder for guys like Sherk to keep just taking his opponents down and just smothering them.....

I would rank big Nog over Cro Cop, but I would very much enjoy seeing them fight to settle the rank.

My most anticipated UFC fights:
Cro Cop vs big Nog
Big Nog vs Gonzaga
Cro Cop vs Gonzaga rematch

Dude, we called it..... Like I said in my posts nobody can take full-out knees to the chin and not go down. He had to be on roidz..
