The internet made escorting more mainstream and less of a leap for women to get in the biz, no more outdoor work.
Could be the same with uber, less work in promoting yourself like street workers yet still inside in your own comfort zone.

The encouragement is definitely a stretch...what it will do is make it safer for you on that screening if they do it right. I'm not sure i see any way that can be a bad thing.

The challenge is not the usability of the app or even that internet facilitates marketing. The challenge (from my perspective) is to remain relevant and from the back end of business (no pun...) is how to improve 'verification' of new clients which neither of those apps provides.......
