Anyone try Uber? hear its no more than a cab and often they pick u up in a lincoln or other like dark coloured limo sedan. Good to impress a date.. I know someone who is very pleased with the service.

It is just a way to book a regular cab, about 80 percent of cabbies have Uber.

My buddy seemed to suggest that the ride is usually a darker coloured unmarked sedan like a limo. I didn't think uber was licensed yet so cabs cant use.

The darker ones are airport limos but lots of regular cab drivers have uber too. It is all somewhat dodgy but they do it anyway because they want the fares.

Driver was telling me that they get a better deal from Uber than from Hailo FWIW.

Not licensed in Toronto, also could end up with a completely unlicensed car, without proper insurance coverage.

Uber concept is priced based on Supply vs Demand.
When Demand is greater than the supply of Uber vehicles, the APP will let you know the price will be "X" times greater than the standard rate. Which can be up to 5 times the rate.
The only convenience is that you can see where the vehicle is...relative to where you are when you "Pinned" your pickup location.

I use Uber regularly, really convenient service, spotless cars, no fuss billing....
