1) H.R. 554

2) S. 397

(text available here: http://thomas.loc.gov )

At a time when the word "liberty" is usually invoked as a pretext for infringing upon the liberty of others, or as a frivolous political fashion statement, the Republicans prove by deed that they take personal liberty seriously. At a time when various parties on the both the Left and Right raise an enormous hoo-hah over imaginary rights ("privacy", gay marriage, etc.) and imaginary threats to rights (camera surveillance, anti-terror act, und so weiter), the Republicans are taking steps to defend real, concrete individual freedom against real, concrete efforts to infringe upon freedom.

These two Acts are to our own era what the likes of Magna Carta and the preamble of the Declaration of Independence were to their own.

The House bill restricts law suits being filed against food manufacturers and food distributors by consumers who claim their products contributed to their obesity. This is on par with The Declaration of Independence and the Magna Carta? Once again you demonstrate your complete inability to make a point without absurd exaggeration.

Perhaps you can tell us how many such suits have been brought to court or are now being argued, without a judge tossing them out as frivolous. I'd be surprised if it was more than a handful. There are more than a few law suits pending, however, based on truth in advertising, for instance, when a company claims their products are low fat when they aren't. HR 554 is worded broadly enough to where it could also include such suits, which may explain why McDonalds and the like are championing it.

What world are you living in because we cant be living in the same one. I guess I will only use one small example and then in your "democratic" way you can justify your blah blah blah. Most American textiles and consumer products come from east asian countries, hmmm yes those republicans are standing up for peoples liberties and freedoms, indeed. Need I say anything else. Please clear my mind and help educate me.

This is clearly the most lucid part of your post

What the hell do textile imports have to do with respect of the Constitution?

I should hope not.

Need I say anything else.
That will be an enormously difficult task given the content of your post.

Please clear my mind and help educate me.
