Gents,

With what is going on in the world of Twitter, I'm considering looking elsewhere to chat with providers.
Is there a real switch of social media toward Instagram or something else?

Picking your brain...

Ever since Elon Musk took control of Twitter, there has been a lot of personnel issues with a large amount of senior management and senior developers either being fired or quitting. This has lead people to question whether T will go under. This in turn has lead to some providers to start to look at other social media platforms with IG being one of those landing spots. Tumblr is another I have heard about. There are also a number of other platforms that are not that large at the moment, such as Mastodon.

All that said, it is unknown if T will collapse. If there is a collapse, it won't be quick. Reports indicate any collapse won't happen until the beginning of next year at the earliest (now watch it shutter next week.....)

If it does start to shut down, here is link to an article about how to download your tweets.

It has always a good plan for SP/MAs to have a backup (IG?) in case they are banned from T, which happens from time to time. If there is a collapse, those who have a backup will be alright. Those who do not will have some catching up.

So at this point, I would just keep in touch with your fav SP/MAs and ask if they have a second social media account somewhere else and join/follow them on the second platform. I'm not going to give up on T just yet. EM dropped some big time coin for T and I don't don't think he wants to bankrupt himself.

I really doubt it will collapse. Before Elon it was a over staffed bloated and made no profit.

Mass exodus are common in large take overs and was required for the company to be profitable which I read somewhere in about 3 months once the severance packages end they will be well on the path to be making approx 1 billion a year.

Also they are starting to hire people again that will fit the work style Elon. People that say Elon knows nothing about coding are laughable and hold no creditability considering his track record.

let's assume it's not profitable within say 6 months, it collapsing next year that seems silly. It's privately owned by the wealthiest of the wealthy, twitter holds lots of soft power influence. 44 billions was spent on it, at minimum they will bleed billions into for years before considering calling it quits. These coders that think they were too valuable and can't be replaced is an even more silly not creditable thought.

What's really so bad about twitter? it's user friendly and everyone can keep in touch very easy...those complaining about twitter are just salty PC crowd who can't stand Elon...this age where you boycott a product just because you don't like what he stands for....before Elon took over, twitter was already a chaotic environment...

With that thinking amazon should be dead, there's no wage slaves at twitter unless you are talking about maybe like janitors or something else mundane vast majority are making 100k with plenty dancing with or well above 200k if that's slave wage then slap me silly and call me Sally because that's delusional

"Elon knows nothing about coding" as an absolute statement is laughable, yes. But saying it's not his wheel-house is a valid statement/discussion. Managing software design/development and understanding that is a different beast than other types of management. Obviously he's a tech billionaire so he's grown his wealth in close company to people who do know coding. But he can still be meat-headed when it comes to his decisions/opinions when it comes to owning a platform like Twitter and how to go about the changes he wants. Being blinded by his own inflated ego can lead to mistakes, if he has (allows) no one to question him. Again, being a tech billionaire I'd hope he'd know how to park that ego but who knows.
Related: Anybody see the movie "Don't Look Up" and the Elon-esque character and his decisions? Nice parody/satire.

It's kind of funny how Twitter has lost 88% of its workforce, and it's still operating just fine. I wouldn't worry about Twitter going anywhere. In fact, it'll likely get better, less girls getting busted by their censorship. The only people freaking out are the celebs and politicians who have had it there way on Twitter all of this time.

I don't see Instagram taking over from Twitter anytime soon, as their censorship is worse than Twitter's.

It's more like going from 7500 staff to just under 2500. Oddly enough some laid off asked yo return and have hired some staff. I can't wait to see Twitter verified Gold😅
