Kids have always done this type of stuff but they didn't have smartphones to share the footage to the world.

GTA
The reasoning behind the stunt was because he saw a video of someone else' stunt in New York City. Monkey see, monkey do.

Teenage boys have always been dumb. We have all done dumb shit. The difference is that there is video evidence for this generation dumb shit.

People so quick to judge.

Riding on the back of a subway car doesn't seem that dangerous to me.

I'd say these sports and activities are far more dangerous.

- Horseback Riding
- Skydiving
- Hang Gliding
- Rock Climbing
- Free Climbing
- Base Jumping
- Motorsports
- Driving an Automobile

To name a few...

Exactly.

The media is just trying to scare other kids from doing this.

Supposedly cheerleading has a higher injury/fatality rate then MMA (even higher then football):

Him riding on the back of the train was no big deal.

But I have seen pictures of idiots riding on top of the train. That's a different story. On the news yesterday in the same story about the kid at the back of the train, they showed a kid riding on top of a car with an electrical pickup that ran along the catenary. That was crazy.

Here's what you don't want to do on a train (warning, graphic)

Obviously society needs to discourage this kind of stuff, or at least not promote it and prosecute it (to maintain law and order), but boys will forever be boys (until radical feminists issue mandatory chemical castration for all males). Almost all will live to see another day, while a few are gonna fuck up and die young. They become the examples that teachers and parents tell their children about.

Would you still be saying "lighten up" or "boys will be boys" if this kid caused a shutdown on your way home or work during rush hours? I think most of us would be asking for the maximum penalty if not more to teach him a lesson.

anywhere i want;)
Based on the replies of this thread it seems some of you do not comprehend how dangerous this really is for obvious reasons...

1.) he could fall and injure himself
2.) he could get electrified
3.) he could cause subway delays

It seems that you guys think the excuse " boys will be boys" is a good enough reason to justify what this young man did ; and judging by the other videos posted in this thread ( the ones with the indian boys) shows how dangerous a "simple " stunt can be.

IF he fell he could have been run over by another subway train, electrified or just caught in the middle of the subway line and have to walk to get to the next stop which is a threat itself. Obviously this kid was NOT thinking at all and like others have said MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO. This is not normal behaviour ; people should NOT be trying to justify it or encourage it !

Hope everyone who does these stunts actually learn how dangerous it is ; because they may think the stunt they are doing is nothing when in reality it could be the last day of their life.

Did the TTC ever call that incident a few weeks ago of tackling a kid who supposedly didn't pay a fare "dumb" too?

Or are they trying to keep that incident as quiet as possible?
