Judge Roy Moore has allegations about inappropriate relations with teenage girls (including one who was just 14 when he was in his 30's). These are just allegations, but enough has come out (and Moore has even admitted to some but only when the mother of the girl gave permission). That's a crazy excuse for a then 30 something to date a teen. But here is the craziest to come out to justify Moore's passion for teenage girls:

"Mary was a teenager and Joseph an adult carpenter and they went on to father Jesus". I kid you not. Try to top THAT one.

Even if he runs over old ladies with a pick up truck, Moore will get elected. He is the messenger of God delivered to the Senate to instill righteousness and sanctity to wicked Washington.

It's all about the South and its obsession with the Bible and fundamental Christianity.

My sister taught college for 3 years in a small town in the South and I spent a couple of family Xmases down there. Her bf and best friend when she was there were both MA qualified college teachers. Both believed the world was created in 7 days by God, personally. They believed in Noah's Ark, etc etc. Literally. No doubts. Darwin was northern, Yankee horseshit.

When the kids went to summer camp, it was Bible Camp and the instructors led prayer and Bible study when they weren't exploring nature.

EVERYBODY in the small town went to church on Sunday. Blacks went to their church. The white trailer trash went to their church. And the "respectable" white folks went to their church. All the churches were fundamentalist Baptist. No one in the entire county was not a "Christian".

Canadians cannot imagine the mindset of people in small towns in the Southern states. It's as if science, evolution and critical thought had never taken place.

He belongs on a sex offender registry. And using the Bible as justification?

I wouldn't be surprised if guys used that as an excuse if caught with an SP - "Well, Mary Magdalene was a prostitute and Jesus hung out with her."

Beware, you're average Canadian living near a metropolis will be normal. However, when you start getting further away, you start to meet a few people who are bible thumpers. Then there's Alberta...

Remember, quite a few members of the PC party that are against abortions, gay marriage, and other "non-Christian" values.

Richard Dawkins is an evolutionary biologists who wrote "The God Delusion"

He was asked why so many bright people are religious fundamentalists. What is the evolutionary advantage in burying your head in the sand? He said he had no idea.

He said one of his colleagues teaches evolution during the week and goes to church on Sunday believing the earth is a few thousand years old.

Amazing.

There's some who are religious to the point of taking things literally or worse, using religion as justification for doing something negative such as violence. Then there's a large group that don't buy into everything and just pick out for positives such as being good to your fellow man. So a churchgoer who teaches evolution doesn't seem nonsensical to me.

We are allowed to recreationally smoke weed soon but in the privacy of our homes, why can’t we make that for religion as well. Religion is not to used as a justification for anything and religious accommodations should be banned in my opinion. You want to choose to believe in God, Allah, Buddha, etc - great. Do it on your own time, on your own dime and without affecting others with your choice.

37% of Alabama evangelicals say they are more likely to vote for Moore since the allegations.

We need to seriously hurry up and find a new planet so that the bible thumpers and Islamic extremists can fight it out here and all us sane and [somehwat] normal people can leave and live in a new paradise with no religion allowed. I know it is pipe dream but don't crush it until tomorrow, ok? LOL

Not so much in Ontario. I grew up in the countryside, and while there are plenty of religious folk, they're not nearly as zealous as the southern states.

Thank god (ha) my family wasn't religious...so much wasted time. I spent Sundays doing odds jobs so that I had a fund for university.

In Ontario, here and there. But it's everybody in the South. And they cling to their beliefs because it makes them "different" to the sinful North.

A lot of the Southern states have no large cities to balance out the demographic either.

Well sort of.

(I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.)

Then a lot of Southern evangelicals (large numbers of whom see Southern Baptists as very mainstream), view liturgical denominations as perhaps not really being Christian.

To reiterate what I must posted above

I politely disagree. If a Muslim wants to pray during school, give them an area to pray. That said, it shouldn't be a private area for a single religion. Should be a multi-faith area and anyone can use it. And it's got to be scheduled properly so they aren't missing too much or any schooling. I also have no issue with a woman wearing a hijab/niqab in public if that's her choice (not being forced to by family). Of course, you have to show your face in certain circumstances (identification, testifying in court). The fact that they are trying to make it so a covered person cannot take the bus in Quebec is ludicrous.

and I think without her permission!
And God was definitely old enough for it to be statutory.
LOL for both!
