Muslims try to silence, kill, intimidate, insult, discredit ANYONE who dares question their beliefs.
That should tell you all you ever need to know about Islam. Any belief system should be able to stand up to criticism or else what good is it?
It's not suprising that Wafa Sultan and other brave people are in the cross hairs of Muslims everywhere. This ex-muslim female has a deep understanding on Islam.

Wafa Sultan isnt a Muslim, she is an Alawite, an off shoot sect of Shia Islam that says Ali and not Muhammed is the true prophet of God, they make up 15% of Syria's population and have ruled under the brutal Assad regime for over 3 decades, so they have a consider bone to pick with the Sunni majority.

not just that but the sheer laziness of not thinking or doing research before making a comment about ex Muslim woman comes out on Islam, she was never a Muslim to begin with her opinions being right or wrong is another topic. In short, Alawites are a sect of Shiite Islam, and regard Ali as successor of Muhammad, and not a replacement of the prophet of Moslems, just like all Shiites do. History tells us what happened after the death of the "prophet". The Moslem caliphate succession was hijacked by Abu baker, Omar, and Othman respectively. Ali was the last of the four caliphates, when he should have been the first, according to alawites and Shiites.
Maybe you consider all Shiite not Moslems!!!!
Or, maybe you have missed all the images of Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, an alawite, praying side by the mufti of Syria in the al amawi mosque!!!

Alawites are considered about as Muslim as the Jews for Jesus crowd is considered Jewish by mainstream Jews, they hold beliefs and celebrate holidays that are a mix of Christianity and Islam, and actually regard Ali as a reincarnation of God the Shiites you talk about are the Twelvers sect like in Iran,Iraq, Lebanon who are very close to Sunni Islam the only major sticking point is the who got to succeed Islam.
Bashar like his father is desperate to hold on to power his group is only 15% ruling a country that is around 75% Sunni Muslim, daddy Hafez even went and got a certificate from a Sunni imam proclaiming him a Muslim, well that guy had two options issue the certificate or spend the next years of your life in a 4 by 6 meter cell with lots of torture in between.
