A couple of weeks ago I tried this new "Pools" game with the ProLine betting sheets.
I realized how much harder it was to pick the 14 straight up winners as opposed to picking the parley point spread winners. Although the rewards can be in the hundreds of thousands (depending on how many winners), I figured I'd have a stroke if I was in the running come Sunday night.lol.
So i think I'll stick to picking point spread guesses....and hope for the best.
1pm games:
Det at Min - the lions lost to the jags last week by a boot 20-17 and the vikes are coming off a tough home loss to GB (its amazing considering how poor the packs play in domes) 34-31. It should be a rebound game for the Vikings this week. I'll take the Vikes.
Den at NO - Den is coming off a bye - so theyll be well rested and prepared. Now, NO again - they were supposed to lose last week vs KC, but; they managed to steal one 27-20. I'm not willing to bet for or against NO, they're too streaky for my liking.
SF at TB - SF stinks...period. they lost again to the panthers this time around 37-27. well, at least they got 27 points (unlike Buffalo....thats another story) but this week its TB. TB at home - theyve been playing a lot better considering the start of the season. they hit a bump last week though, losing to the falcons 24-14. I'll take TB on this one.
Az at Car - now did the cardinals win one...ir did the giants lose that game. giants were up 2 TDs and they imploded (same as the week before) Az won by a field goal....Emmit is running like a 28 yr old again. Car tough waxed SF but gave up 27 points to the lowly niners. I'll take Car on this.
Ten at Jak - congratulations to the bears fans! what a game! da bears are showing signs of life - a safety wins it it OT. Tennessee just plain lost that one - no effort at all in the end. Jak is coming off a win at Det....I'll take Jak at home for this one.
Dal at Bal - Dallas is coming off a short week and a tough Monday nighter vs the eagles. I'm still waiting for the Tuna to have a heart attack on the sidelines. Bal showed that they can stop an offense. 2 weeks in a row a good effort. At home, they'll be tough...if its cold, even worse. Ill take the Ravens D for a win (like they say - offense is the sizzle, defense is the steak).
StL at Buf - STL is coming off a big win vs the seahawks. Amazing how the seahawks managed to turn this year to shit - considering they were early favorites to go a long way in the playoffs. StL will be favored....but I hate Martz. I hope it snows in Buffalo this week - that ought to stop the Rams high powered passing offense. But Buffalo sucks....they got waxed by the pats 29-6. Bledsoe just looks bad....awful picks he threw and the running game got stumped. Stl will be favored but I might just take the Bills (weather will be a factor).
Ind at Chi - the upstart Texans were taught a lesson. Do not screw aroung with Manning...he burned them for 5 tds and a total of 49-14. Chi played a tough game....all heart in the end. but itll be tough for them this week. I'll have to take Ind barring a double digit spread.
Pit at Cin - Who's gonna stop the rookie? Not Cle last week....and not the bungels this week. the bungels had a huge road win against gibbs but the buck stops here. Itll be the Steelers....again.
NYJ at Cle - stop the run...the pass dies. But can Cle stop the run? if they do it'll be a good day. Take Cle at home vs the recently humbled Jets.
4pm games:
SD at Oak - how to do you stop the blleding in Oakland? - give them a bye week. Drew wants to get paid! he'll have a good game. SD hands down for this one.
Mia at Sea - the disappointing seahawks vs the horrible dolphins. Mia is coming off a bye - which won't help...they still lack the most important ingedient in winning some games....talent. Take the hawks.
Atl at NYG - cold weather a factor? no.....for the giants, choking is the x factor. they can win this at home? but will they? i doubt it. take the falcons - it'll be close though.
Wsh at Phi - the city of brotherly love is welcoming the team that Gibbs built (not quite). But Phi is coming off a short week vs the boys and Wsh ahd a tough home loss from the bungels - might be time for a better effort. I'll take the eagles at home...i hope TO calms down though.
Sunday night :
GB at Hou - the packs suck in domes and houston was humbled by the colts - might be a good one. GB played all out vs the vikes and prevailed (in a dome). Can hou bounce back? maybe - but i'll take Favre.
Monday night :
NE at KC - the pats are solid...the chiefs streaky. take NE - the chiefs will give you indigestion.
