Someone told me that Durham are watching the two hotels for activity. I replied to a too good to be true ad last Saturday. Knocking on the door no answer, left, txted and she said come back didnt hear me....I did and again no reply. Flags went off at first cause I seen a new blacked out tinted window truck out back all by its self. And when first knocked there was pure daylight in the room peephole. I looked at the other peepholes around and all were well lit also. Anyone heard of unusual activity at these two spots? Thanks guys!

I was at the travel lodge tonight, never saw anything, but might have seen that truck

I think the cops got real crimes to solve and dont chase the girls anymore

VIP WELLNESS is basically a bawdy house and it is no secret where it is

if they were going to bust anywhere, it would be there

last week there was someone hanging around in the hallway (I think) the Travelodge. I had made an appintment to see one of the ladies, and when I called for the room number she was pretty stressed. We talked about it and decided that discretion was in order. This was the day after the issue one of the local spinners had with somebody else that ended up with a flaming war on TERB. Whether the loiterer was an enforcer for the law or against the law made no difference to me. I went outside, had a smoke and left. There was a dark van parked outside too, not often you see an Econoline or Savannah without rust and in any colour other than white. A reminder as to why I prefer outcalls.

I'm pretty sure there is nothing the police can do or they choose not too. The only time you ever hear of a place being busted is if they have an incall that's a nuissance to the neighbours or something happens there, if there is underage sp's or no license or illegals. I've never heard of ppl getting busted for sp' ing out of a hotel... Teh would have a hard time proving prostitution and they cant really consider a hotel room a bawdy house. unless maybe the sp actually lived there... but who would want to do that?!

Taker2ez has a point. If you are concerned about LE avoid places like VIP Wellness. but at the same time, when you think about it they draw so much attention to themselves and they aren't subtle about what they're doing at all and they've been around for a long time. There isn't much the police can do unless they go there for other reasons even licensing isn't an issue. There are supposed to be some heavy fines to deter massage business from opening up. I believe la Villa Spa is the only one with a license and LE pretty much leave every other place alone. If you use and agency and the sp's keep taking you to the same location that could be an issue... but hotels are just acceptable I guess.

I think the main things Sp's and hobbiests need to remember is that prostitution isn't illegal. Communication for the purpose of prostitution, keeping a bawdy house and living off the avails of prostitution are and this is what the police have to prove. People get busted on sting operations when they communicate sex for money with undercover LE.

Even if the police were watching an SP in a hotel (and I think they have more pressing issues to deal with), they need to prove one of the above stated "crimes" has taken place.

What they might do is try to intimidate you and question you but the basic facts of law is

1) We are not obligated by law to answer any questions or explain our comings and goings to police
2) Unless we are being detained or charged, they cannot lawfully keep us from our freedom to travel or leave
3) We are under no lawful obligation to say anything to police but can be charged for obstruction if we lie or mislead them
4) We are under no obligation to identify ourselves to police unless we are driving

They count on the fact that people are nervous and intimidated and will feel obligated to answer their questions.

The best thing to do if a situation did arise is to respectfully tell police that you are not breaking any laws and ask if you're free to go. Unless you've just asked an undercover LE to have sex with you for money, chances are they have no grounds to detain you

Even if you were arrested you can still remain silent and are only required to answer questions as directed by a Judge in court.

If you were to phone a lawyer on arrest the first piece of advise he would give you is.... Don't say anything!!

Months ago My friend and I had our own rooms at the Best Western? (The old Dynasty.)
I had just arrived.
The front desk had just called the police and said my friend was a working girl and didnt want her to stay there. The Po Po came and we switched locations ASAP (as they waited for her to leave).
The dude at front desk is psychotic!!
Most of the maids are nice. Im sure the liked the tips for towels lol
But heads up to girls stay clear!!

that was the travel lodge baby face ,they don't like working girls there, remember the guy said too many visitors. The cops were just laughing at the guy and told me there are other hotels in durham. It's true they have more important things to do with there time. Its just certain judgemental managers that have a problem.:confused:The problem with the best western is that the head house keeper is a nosy and doesn't like makeup on the towels, the manager there said she is pissed she doesn't get the tips, sometimes she sneaks in the room before the girl cleaning it does so she can scoop tips.

From my experiences... I would stay away from the travel lodge all together. The manager is nasty ( I've dealt with him myself personally) and I really wouldn't put it past him to do something dirty like, call LE even though they probably wouldn't do anything except try to get you out of there. The Best Western was ok never had a problem with anyone. The manager seemed ok to me, and the maids were really nice.I have had random talks while having 2 maids separately clean up my room and they were all really cool. The Comfort Inn was alright too, same as BW.But yeah..I would stay away from the Travel lodge..Also..The front desk lady is extremely nosy.

Ive worked out of the travelodge off and on for over 2 yrs and I have never had a problem. In fact I was such a good customer they bought me a small christmas gift one year. Its probably from all the travellers who stay there and ruin it for others, but i know when i go there they always treat me respectfully. As long as your not solicitating theres nothing to worry about. enjoy hobbying!

I've never had a problem at the Travelodge either,it is actually the best working hotel in my opinion, the staff are all very kind, accommodating and discrete with me,including the manager. I guess its a YMMV situation lol.The best western and comfort inn are the ones I stay away from,I find the manager at Best western to be rude and nosey and the comfort inn is a dive with girls at the desk who ask too many questions...And of course, Motel 6 is just a given, heat ..I wouldn't work there.

thats my2cents. I do wish we had more options with bigger hotels like in Toronto though,Oshawa/Whitby is small and we are limited for working space... you have to be comfortable with the staff at ur preferred hotel because no matter what,if you frequent it often, they will get to know you.I am fortunate enough to only work twice a month so they probably don't think much of me being there.I never stay the night and am very quiet with very little traffic (2 clients per day) so I doubt they even notice me or my activity..it must be hard for local girls to find a place that would accommodate a full time SP in Durham!
I agree the travel lodge is a great hotel if you only stay once in awhile and there isn;t alot of traffic, unfortunatly at the time I was staying there overnight and although I was only working in the daytime,I was having my clients come in the front door,so it may have been abit obvious. I found that the holiday inn express in whitby, I was there two months with no issues at all was a much better place for me until I found my condo.

Definitely possible but normally this would be preceded by complaints from other patrons of the hotel which is why they have surveillance on the place. Most LE let these things go unless it becomes to visible
