What kind of car? I had a Buick LeSabre that went through several because of a design problem (I found out later). Good guy for transmissions is Carlos Lopes and Crawford Garage, College and Crawford. He is good and won't rip you off.

wolfe transmission in toronto rebuilds most tranny's for the smaller shops and garages. they will sell direct to the consumer as well. a rebuilt for a chevy 4x4 garage cost is 1200. on average their rebuilds run 950 to 1,500. the garages then mark them up usually by 30% and then add labour fluids, etc still cheaper than the franchise dealers and just as good a warranty. my shop has used them for 10 years now and never a warranty problem. i will sell to you when and if you need one lol.

Actually a good tranny shop is Metro Transmission on Kingston Road where Danforth Avenue meets it,also Eagle Transmission at Warden and Danforth is good too.....
