Hi, I'm thinkin of buying a 2004 V6 Highlander soon but I have a few questions regarding the gas milage. If anyone on here owns or has owned one please help me out.

I dont think it is rated as a full size SUV and a gas gussler but how do you find living with it day in day out with todays high gas prices?

At todays cost of gas how much does it take to fill the tank and how much klm does it last?

My only concern with this vehicle is cost of operating gas wise.

Any feedback would be welcomed but please dont say what every genius seems to be telling me "if you want better fuel economy get a 4cly car" no guff sherlock

Not Bad

I have a 2004 Highlander. It has good power with the V6. but obviously if you have a lead foot the gas mileage goes down. I usually fill it up when the low fuel light goes on. That is around 60 litres. Depending on highway then it is around 500 kms, if it is more city, then around 400kms when the light comes on.

its a square box on wheels with all sorts of stuff hooked to the engine . The gas mileage is about average for the class of vehical. Take the manufactures epa mileage and you should get about 75% -80% of that

i have an '08 for work. it is a redesign so i can't give you exact figures... nice strong powerful engine, but if you tread lightly you'll be rewarded with gas mileage savings... tramp on the pedal and it'll bleed you dry.

on the other hand, i also have an 01Rav4. it's much, much better fuel economy and i much prefer it over the highlander. the fuel savings come at the price of power, IMO. but, it is well worth it.

costs me $90 to drive to the Soo in my Highlander, $50 in my Rav4, $140 in my Tundra. hope that helps.

That's going to be a long wait. Prices are going in one direction, with the odd temporary correction that will only obscure the true picture.
