They will not make it beyond the quarter finals with their current quality of play.
For those of my paesans who continually say that Italy is the best, they won't watch another soccer game after July 9th for the next four years as their bandwagon is departing.
For us true soccer fans, we know that they don't have what it takes unless things change drastically. They have the talent, but not the passion.
That being said. Here's hoping.
Forza Azzurri
Well its always to easy to see passion after a win.CuMsHoT KinG said:The passion is there you can see it after the big win today from all teammates! They certainly have the talent and are one of the best defensive teams on earth even without a key player like Nesta out.
even in 1982, I thought Brazil was huge favourite to win it all, and Italy really turned on the scoring. Italians have a couple of strikers who are known goal scorers in Serie A.....if statistics mean anything they will have to have multiple goal scoring games to get back to their averages.SPQR said:Well its always to easy to see passion after a win.
They started out like this in 1982 and turned things around. So who knows.
Another guy who sees "winning as everything". It served the bum who runs juventus pretty well huh?CuMsHoT KinG said:But winning is everything and if think for a moment that it's not an honour to represent your country on the biggest stage in the WORLD, think again!
VIVA ITALIA!
I think Italy easily outplayed the Aussies in the first.........the second half was easily Australias game.......but if you say they were playing shorthanded ..that explains a bit.A-ROD said:I am by no means a soccer expert... I watched the game today and in my opinion Italy had no business winning this game. Australia outplayed them even when they were at even strength.
I have watched several games and find the Italians to be a very dirty team that likes to dive and cry to the referees.
If they do go on to win this tournament it won't be because they are a good team, I would say a lucky team is more like it.
dude what game did you watch? easily out played the Aussies in the 1st? Is that why OZ had 73% of the possession for 30 mins and and 55% of it after 45mins (the first half)???wonkyknee said:I think Italy easily outplayed the Aussies in the first.........the second half was easily Australias game.......but if you say they were playing shorthanded ..that explains a bit.
With some of the celebrating I saw, you think they'd won it on merit.tightfit said:God,
just another excuse for the Italians to tell me how great they are...
I did not see the game so it is hard for me to comment if it was a foul or not, but wouldn't the referee know that by making that call at that time of the game he was in essense giving the game to Italy. For me, given the context of the game, I would make sure it was a blantant foul before calling it.Marbles said:A referee makes a mess of another game ...
