Being that quite a few of us here at Sapphire Studio are Burlesque Preformers, i was wondering how many of you out there in TERB land were fans/supporters and who your favs were.
What are your thoughts on classic cheesecake tease vs. comedy strip tease?

It could have Laura come to think of it if she had black hair... Actually alot of the ppl who work here go to the bovine we have been long time friends of the staff and owner.

Every Sunday at Cherry Colas and Wednesday at the Bovine.

True burlesque you were never near the dancers - you were in the audience. I vaguely remember sneaking into the Victory Burlesque and watching a show there. There was a drunk comedy host in a wrinkled tuxedo. The women were frumpy and the highlight was spinning tassles on their nipples spinning in opposite directions.

There was a time that the SC dancers took pride in their stage shows with puppet acts, costumes, etc but that appears to have faded with the burlesque.

I agree with you fore the most part, im a sucker for the old comedy raunchy acts, some ppl take it far to serious now.
DOLLY BERLIN is by far one of the best local acts, she is funny and always had the the crowd laughing.
She preformed in a giant chicken head for the easter show, she is truly what the art should still be about
