What an F'n Joke! Hey Lady, you blew it yourself, it wasn't Rogers Fault!
That was my first reaction as well.
Then as I read the story in more detail and saw that the bills were always in different names, the changes were done without her knowledge let alone consent, and that Rogers gave the PIN to her voicemail to her jilted lover who was then able to access her voicemails and stalk her, I thought there is a bit of a case here.

I think that blaming Rogers for the divorce and wanting $600,000 is ridiculous, but Rogers did breach their duty of care to her regarding private information and she should get some compensation (not $600,00).

On the other hand, her claims of embarrassment and shame could be countered by the fact that she and her lawyer gave interviews to a newspaper.

One may also remember that while she is appealing to the court to punish Rogers for "breach of contract" causing the downfall of her marriage, I think her own breach of contract is much more responsible for the downfall of her marriage. ( ie. the marriage contract and the associated verbal vows (more contract) ). She can blame rogers for her husband finding out about her affair. but they are not to blame for her marriage downfall, nor are they to blame for her ensuing lack of work performance and therefor her dismissal.

yes rogers has serious issues in their invoicing derpartment and their ability to keep clients separate and such ( I have first hand experience with this and they are perhaps the worst I have had the displeasure of dealing with in this regard).

BUT it has to be kept in perspective, the guy didn't leave her for having made phone calls to someone, he left her for having f@#$#d around. she should take responsibility for her actions like an adult.

if she is looking for quicker coin, maybe she should become an mpa or sp, although if hubby aint forgiving her she probably isnt worth having.

She didn't use a Pay-as-you-go or calling card.
It's obviously pre-Tiger era.

Rogers are complete clowns here. Just because what she did was morally wrong, does not mean Rogers is not responsible. Considering the number of married guys here that see SPs I am amazed there is no sympathy for this case. There are some real serious consequences of violating privacy. Rogers has just found that out.

Agree with you on this one, there is legal cause to sue Rogers. Of course, I think they are jointly liable for her "losing her life" in about a 999:1 ratio, so I'd grant her 0.1% of her $600 000 lawsuit ($600). Case closed.

I'd feel the same about any man (terbite or not) who sleeps with another women without his SO's knowledge.

uhhhh NO. I thought Tiger was a dumbass for using his main mobile phone to text his mistresses and for not locking his phone so his wife was able to read the contents. If someone is a dumbass, they are a dumbass, regardless of gender. There is a reason why most smart clients here use a pay-as-you-go phone.

Too bad she wasn't a member on Terb, we could have taught her a thing or two about covering her tracks if she read our threads. :D

Whay can I say ONLY IN CANADA!!!!!!
I can think of at least one other country -- which happens to border Canada -- where crazy lawsuits are the order of the day.

I think lawsuits should be more of an arbitration-type process: each case should be judged not only on its merits, but also whether the damages sought are reasonable. So in a case like this, where the $600K the woman is asking for is clearly insane, the case would be thrown out, regardless of whether Rogers violated some minor principle of contract law.

i agree ...cuz i been there done that....have rogers account (cell) ordered new services (internet) they Rogers consolidated both accounts into 1 without my permission....i liked keeping my bills sepate u know 4 dicks 4 rent 1 dick 4 phone bill half a dick 4 internet etc....so i pay my 1 dick phonebill ...which i assumed was still the same size as every month and it was except they added another half a dick for the internet and i didn't pay that portion cuz i didn't know it was all on 1 dick ...they of course cut off the main dick

untill i told them to fuck the main dick and seperate it from the half a dick...but of course in the meantime they charged me a quarter dick for non payment of the dick and a half which i did not approve of servicing together

anyway lol
Miss Lisa, please do tell how much is each of these dicks worth??? Some dicks are worth more than others, such as there is a dollar bill, a five dollar bill, a ten dollar bill, a hundred dollar bill, and if you have it under your mattress, a thousand dollar bill. Your main dick should be worth a lot more than your regular dick. LMAO!!!

Should we feel sorry for someone who lost their $100,000 job and husband because they cheated. I think not. Some people thinks it's always greener on the other side.

Nothing wrong with what they did to you. That wasn't a breach of contract since both items were in your name.

In the article, Rogers breached their contract because they combined bills that were in two separate names, but going to the same household, thereby raising privacy concerns. Sure, I'd say she has a valid case to sue them for breach of contract. But when it comes to her losing her job (which she figures was worth $600 000 i guess), it was a joint liability between mostly her cheating and, to a much smaller extent, Roger's mistake. I think the courts will take that into account and award her a much smaller amount than she is hoping for.

She may have a case for breach of contract. I would expect the judge would then say, "OK, but this is partly your fault too, so I'm going to say you yourself are responsible for $599,900 of the damages you claim and have Rogers to pay you $100 for their part in it. Sorry, though, I'm not going to award you legal costs, oops, looks like you're out the few grand you spent on your lawyer."
