In 2024, hosting the Olympics will provide a lot of money to the lakefront casino and brothels!

It shouldn't take more than a day for council to 'study' this and decide to not put in an Olympic bid. And at this point we should at least wait and see how the Pan Am Games play out in 2015 before considering the much larger scale of the Olympics.
And applying to host the World Expo 2025 makes more sense for the city.

We would need an Olympic sized stadium, the SkyDome isn't big enough. It would be used for two weeks, then sit empty - yet another white elephant.
Still a better idea than hosting the G20 which cost a billion and we have zero to show for it.

They didn't say they are going to bid on it, they said that they are going to think about it.

Hopefully the answer is no.

We've tried twice and failed each time. In the past, I was all for it. But now, I'm against the Olympics. Too much money spent and for what? 2 weeks? It's nuts. I'd rather see them spend the money bulding a new north / south subway line. Hell, an entire subway network.
