you gotta love boomer's impression of toronto baseball fans.

Wells:"Stick, puck, ice, missing teeth; this is the stuff these Canucks understand. Baseball seems entirely too complicated for 'em ... Baseball fans in Canada simply do not understand what they're watching. Honest to God, there were nights where I just wanted to climb up in the seats at the SkyDome and start slapping."

Wells:"No beat writers in any town that I've ever played in are as ignorant, muck-raking or relentlessly negative as the guys in Toronto. In a region where baseball is slightly less popular than hockey, football, curling, tobogganing, ice-fishing and snowshoe racing, the local sports-hosers have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. Writing about cigarettes, beer and ugly wool hats, they'd win Pulitzers, but baseball seems entirely beyond their reach."

I'll take all of these "observations" as compliments.
Personally, you'd have to pay me and drag me to go to watch a baseball game.

in regards to baseball fans in Toronto, the man was speaking the truth, have you been to a Blue Jays game lately, all you get mostly is 7 and 8 year old kids yelling can you throw the ball up here to the players, and remember that 200 thousand plus people that showed up in 92 and 93 on certain October nights on Yonge Street to hoop and holler, well where are they now, give me fans in Chicago, New York, Boston or St Louis any day over the band wagon jumpers here.
