Yeah,I am guilty as charged. I am writing this to you from my computer keyboard! I don't need to use handwriting anymore right after I got married years ago:frusty:

I have forty + years experience in business in all these years the more senior the staff (i.e. position not age) the worse the handwriting I am no exception.

If we are going to teach a second writing system in our schools, it would maybe make more sense to teach the Chinese system.

For those who don't know, the Chinese system is largely language independent which is why, with additions for grammatical concepts, the Japanese use it for an entirely different language.

At any rate learning the core ideograms seems more valuable than handwriting.

As i began to print again in my early 20's for field and lab notes, about the only thing I do in a cursive style is my signature. The computer and smart phones are just about eliminating written reports.

A few years back I had to give a handwriting sample and it had to be in writing (no printing!). It took me a while to remember how and when I finally did it looked like chicken scratches lol!

Other than anniversary, mothers day and birthday cards to my wife and mother, I don't have to write anything else. And it shows. But my writing sucked all through school, and my printing is pretty bad too, as my boss can attest.
