So...in Chicago there is an area of downtown (one block really...mostly taken up by a single multistory building filled with shops) where people go to get deals on jewelery. Floor after floor in this old mid level high rise, and on each floor perhaps as many as 5 or 6 dealers..easily 50 total.
In New York there is a neighborhood in Manhattan (I forget where) that people go to do the same thing...get deals on decent jewelry, versus paying mall mark ups.
Is there something like that in Toronto? I need to pick up a modestly priced gift tomorrow...the sort of thing where it is ok if it isn't super top notch quality (it isn't an engagement ring or anything...it is just a grad present for a kid). I was thinking a string of pearls...7mm / 8mm, AA or AA+. I very much wanna do this for less than $200 if possible.
Thoughts??
