This guy's about about as dumb as a bag of hammers!

TORONTO -- An off-duty Toronto police officer is facing charges after allegedly soliciting a sex trade worker in York Region last month.

York Regional Police say that on March 31, they were notified by a victim that a man had contacted her to arrange to meet at a hotel and for her to provide him with sexual services.

“When the suspect arrived, he was wearing a firearm and told her that he was a police officer,” York Regional Police said in a statement issued on Thursday. “The victim got upset and demanded that he leave.”

Officers from the Special Victims Unit began an investigation into the allegations and on April 2, they arrested a 37-year-old Georgina man identified as Travis Houston.

He was charged with weapons dangerous, obtaining sexual services and mischief.

York Regional Police confirmed Houston is a Toronto police officer.

Toronto police spokesperson Connie Osbourne said Houston, a constable, is based at 41 Division in Scarborough and has worked for the service for two years.

She said he “has been suspended with pay under the Police Services Act.”

Investigators in York Region say they “have concerns there may be additional victims” and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call Human Trafficking investigators at 1-833-900-1010.

Suspended with pay. Sweet.
yup for months maybe years then he will resign

could have thrown several more firearms charges at him that would have been thrown at a civilian

IE possession of a restricted/prohibited weapon where not authorized (he cant carry when not on duty)
possession of a loaded restricted/prohibited firearm where/when not authorized
transport of restricted/prohibited firearms without an ATT/SAP
and the police favorite when attacking legal gun owners unsafe storage of a restricted/prohibited firearm

That looks like a Glock on his belt, or at least a polymer framed pistol. His badge is his permit to open carry. Other than police only permitted security guards can open carry.
This may be his duty weapon which has to be at the police station unless he is using it on duty. Unauthorized use of his duty weapon may be how the TPS will do a quick termination. There is no question this guy will do prison time. How will the guards and inmate treat him? How will he be treated by society once he gets out.

ONLY when on active duty they cannot carry when off duty and MUST follow all storage laws

TPS allows its officers to bring their side arms home

They got him on "communicate" at least. Not sure about the other charges. "Weapons dangerous" usually requires that the weapon be brandished.

Look at it this way. With this guy gone the average IQ of the YRPS probably bobbed up by 2 or 3 points.

Maybe he was trying to look flash for the girlies. Like he's making up for girl fails in high school. Lol.
Seriously, what a non bright move. So lady knows he's a copper and might use that against him, independent of the sidearm.
