If people can't social distance, and the California beaches were a great example of morons not comprehending social distancing, they should be closed. I don't think they expect no one to go outside. I go for walks every day and nobody's bothered me about it. Just don't congregate...it's really, really simple.

California is closing beaches in set areas for this weekend, other areas in California will remain open as they did a better job with social distancing.

What close contact do you get on the beach or in the park? I'm not a beach aficionado, more of a beach bar lover, but I don't recall, even seating under a thatch, being anywhere close to anybody for an outdoor infection to take place. As for parks, that's just ridiculous unless you chose to wrestle with someone infected. There's a very good reason why in the warmer weather and in the open viruses simply don't do well enough to matter. Have you or anyone you know ever worried about getting a flue or a cold while walking in the park or enjoying a beach? When did we take the leave of the common sense and allowed the fucking political nuts to sell us bullshit?
Where is your data on the outdoor infections? I want the facts, not opinions and fear mongering. People are stupid? Some are, but that's not my impression during this emergency. I've been working outside and inside, visiting job sites, architects, suppliers, etc. and all I can say that people are taking this seriously and thoughtfully.
