Toronto’s 2024 budget may include historic double-digit tax hike.

Here
I just heard on the news the hike will be 10% and it would take a 6% hike just to manage the homeless and refugee problem that the liberals caused and refuse to take responsibility for.

It's actually 10.5% and it could get even worse...could be 16.5% if the City commies don't get the money from the Federal commies.

Carroll said the City is still waiting for the federal government to provide the $250 million required to support the federal refugees currently stuck in Toronto's shelter system.

If the federal government does not make a decision by the time the Budget Committee process concludes on Jan. 26, Carroll said she will be forced to have staff bring forward an additional federal impacts levy of 6 per cent.

They didn't vote for a 10.5% tax increase because she would never answer how much she would increase taxes when asked during the election campaign.
So they voted for lube without knowing how big the Commie cock was going to be.
They?

How about you?

Who did you vote for?

Were you even allowed to vote in Toronto?

16 plus years of conservative, right-wing "starving the city" alternative reality, "faux-budgets" equals the "and here we are left today to clean up their mess", facing reality.

Yeah ok...keep drinking the Commie kool-aide. The "mess" wasn't not getting enough taxes. The mess was managing the money.
Now it's about lazy politicking...raising taxes at a time when things are already unaffordable for many.
Enjoy your rent increase!

They should cancel the free Viagra benefit for city staff and save half a million a year. They are well paid enough for doing a lousy job. Sell all the unused trucks in the city parking lot.
Fire 18 of the 19 person who review city street name changes. Why do we need 19 persons to review a simple change?

Weren't you guys complaining about how poorly funded the city was last week?
About how many homeless there are, how bad the ttc is and how dirty it looks?

Now you're upset its going to be dealt with?

Not poorly funded...poorly managed.
The Feds have significantly contributed to the homeless problem.
The TTC has been a disaster for decades and the only thing that will be "fixed" is the continuation of keeping over-paid union workers employed whether or not ridership is low, and ignoring all the money lost to fare evaders ($60+ million per year). I can almost guarantee you that if the TTC was a private company fare evasion would be minimal.

Thank God I left Toronto when I did. 'Progressives' ruin everything.

Should only apply to the downtown core since they voted for this.
Are Willowdale (Lastman's old stomping grounds) and most of Scarborough part of the downtown core now?

The amalgamated city model clearly isn't working anywhere close to expected. Perhaps we should go back to the 6 cities model? Or something completely different. Then we can pick something else to complain about.
