Capital Guy, I feel I should clarify.
We're in this thing together, evein if you're not my client and I'm not your SP.
SPs and customers face a variety of risks when we do this. But we have to find some balance between managing risk and allowing the other the same consideration, don't you think?
We can't start viewing each other as enemies -- for one thing, because we have enough enemies out there in the world of people who don't understand why either you or I might choose to do this. And then, added on top of that, both you and I face enemies who prey upon us because they feel our choice to do this renders us more vulnerable than another potential victim.
For that reason, decent customers and decent SPs do best to find ways to identify each other as distinct from those who might threaten us. As I noted above, I recently loosened my verification policies. Couldn't you find it within yourself to look for ways that SPs could deal with you and yet feel more secure?
Doesn't it serve both you and me to encourage any system that doesn't require one or the other to take unreasonable risks? That allows decent customers and decent SPs to know each other without having to run the gauntlet of shady, dishonest and violent participants?
