So much for the rude good health of our financial institutions. Canadian banks helped themselves to $117 billion in bail out loans from the Canadian and American governments. What bothers me is not that the loans were given but the secrecy surrounding them.

but in fairness, they paid the loans back....i just wish their immense profits were taxed a little more...oh and secrecy from the harper govt? gee what a surprise...

Yes, just like it did with the S&L crisis.... The only thing the US government makes money on is bailing out banks.
