Tinted license plate covers won't shield you from a ticket

They try to avoid the 407 fees or speed camera. I have no sympathy... fine should be $1000 and driver license suspension and jail time.

I agree that this is not policed and punished enough.
Also it incentivises hit and run. If they can't see your plate why the hell would you stay on the scene?
also, this is the easiest offence to not commit. Just don't buy the fucking thing and don't screw it on your plate.

What about all the plates with the outer screen falling off? Has to be at least 10 to 15 % of cars. WTF was the Ontario government thinking of? Somebody sold them a fable. Fuck, those plates started to fall apart after 3 or 4 years.

I think I heard a case where someone had a ticket because their frame covered the slogan on the plate [which isn't an identifier] when the pig's car had the exact same issue.

Getting a new car, going to replace the dealer frame with my own. I hope I don't get in shit for it.

Yeah they don't seem to get tickets

I got some new vanity plates. I assume if I get them ceramic coated with the rest of the car I'm good to go. Might not prevent the peeling, is that even still an issue, hopefully they fixed it by now. I just want to make it easier to clean.

Good. They should nail more people for that. Far too many people driving around with unreadable license plates. Being readable is the whole point of the license plate....
