I am curious to know whether other folks out here are wondering the same thing. It seems that less and less the photos we see that are obvious to the average joe are fake are not coming up with hits on Tineye. Do you think that they have found a way around it. Are there other reverse image look up sites out there to try and utilize. Just wondering and putting it out there for discussion.

I wonder if altering the size of the photo or editing a few pixels away can throw Tin Eye off.

From my understanding there is not too much that can throw TINeye off, even cropping, blurring or changing colors, clothes etc. There is a toggle button that will bounce back and forth between each picture to show you the original and the edited pic.

You need to remember that Tin Eye needs to have the photo in its database to come up with a hit. I don't know how they go about accumulating them.

Just because it does not come back with a hit does not make it a legit picture. Tin Eye has been used so much more here in the last months and the scammers know it. I am sure that when they find a picture they want to use to B/S they themselves do a Tin Eye search. If nothing comes up, they use it.

Just going through the "Bitches of Craigslist" site each day, i can find several photos that are fake but are not hits on Tin Eye. Its a useful tool but limited by its own database.
