I tried the Tim Hortons latte today. The French Vanilla latte was 3 times as sweet as it should be and loaded with calories. It rates very low compared to a real latte. Not worth trying.
Dunkin Donuts blows TH away, after the initial novelty wears off I bet Timmie's doesn't last too long in the US against real competition. In Canada they never had a strong competitor. And if they don't start improving quality here they are going to be in trouble.Of course they have been building a presence in the U.S. over the past few years but with several hundred locations primarily through the Northeast I believe, the upside for new stores in the U.S. market is huge.
They've had the specialty coffees for longer then TH and are slightly better. DD has a wider variety of breakfast items and some lunch items which they have been expanding lately. But their breakfast items are available all day in contrast to TH. While there are some differences DD is Tim's main competition in the US and they can't compare in terms of coffees, donuts, bagels and other breakfast offerings. IMO of course and that of a lot of people I know who have had both.Does Dunkin Donuts do all the specialty coffees and lunch menus?
I disagree with that statement, for years the major "coffee and doughnut" chains in Canada were Country Style and Coffee Time, along with Tim's,Mr Donut and Bakers Dozen, Tim's began advertising on television and through a very clever marketing strategy, turned themselves into a "institution" here in Canada....In Canada they never had a strong competitor.
No. Lattes are used for climbing up to clean your eavestroughs.aren't lattes for women and children?
so you had a latte rung up at the cash to clean your eves? No. Lattes are used for climbing up to clean your eavestroughs.
I don't know, I think TH won more because the other guys sucked rather than TH being so great. I find thier coffee horrible, as is most of thier other offerings. Compared to McD the TH products fail across the board (the exception is the breakfast biscuit which I think TH is slightly better). Coffee time, Country style? I don't know anyone who thinks those are 'good' places. Like Arbys, I sometimes wonder how they stay in business.I disagree with that statement, for years the major "coffee and doughnut" chains in Canada were Country Style and Coffee Time, along with Tim's,Mr Donut and Bakers Dozen, Tim's began advertising on television and through a very clever marketing strategy, turned themselves into a "institution" here in Canada....
Go back 20 or 30 years, most coffee or "donut' shops in those days were Country Style and Coffee Time, along with Mr Donut, there wasn't all that many Tims locations then, and as Tims grew and became the first coffee shop to advertise on television, their legacy grew, along with people who think they are somehow addicted to Tims coffee!I don't know, I think TH won more because the other guys sucked rather than TH being so great.
