Thomas Walkom (Star) - Do Liberals matter any more?

I thought this was an interesting column by Thomas Walkom in today's Toronto Star:

He raises an interesting question: Apart from their talk about Liberal "values," do Liberals -- at the federal or provincial level -- have anything particularly substantive to say to voters these days?

I'm not so sure.

They matter to me. That's because they are the moderate alternative to the Conservatives. They may not add anything unique but their middle of the road policies is attractive to moderates. If they go away, I may be forced to throw my hat in with the Conservatives.
