Shit! I need glasses, Correct! , it's actually Goldstein, played by Ken MIchelman. His teammate at Univ. of Denver was Sinbad the comedian.
I was in college when The White Shadow was on, and I didn't have my own TV. I only saw the episode where they met Elgin Baylor, (RIP a few days ago), but I knew Warren and Salami spoke at an elevator in St Elsewhere. Byron Stewart played different characters with the same name on both shows. I saw most of the St Elsewhere episodes, but only once each, so that's pretty good recall.
