I see more and more often offerings here for Tantra this, Tantra that.

The truth about Tantra is that it is about deep, intimate connection and sharing love: complete sexual surrender of each person to the other... not merely fucking, no matter how enthusiastic and open.

The minute you put a dollar sign on it, the necessary conditions for it evaporate.

Over the years I have tried several professional ladies offering it but none have been able to deliver: what is required to make it happen is what they reserve for their own friends and/or SO.

And Tantra is about sharing sexual energy. Put a hat on it and it's like putting an insulator on an electric contact: energy cannot flow.

I am not complaining or putting it down. On the contrary, I have been practicing Tantra for many years and, when that connection happens, it is blissful beyond words to describe. I have experienced it many times with several different women.

I am just saying that it cannot happen in a commercial environment... so don't be misled because the promises cannot be fulfilled.

Thanks for posting this, Perry. I've been curious about tantra for a while now. I've seen some of the ads, but my understanding of tantra have led me to the same conclusion you state here. This is why I've been reluctant to try it. I'll be interested to see if there are any posts to the contrary.

Well, yes, I have had those experiences too. Nothing "wrong" with that! But neither yours nor mine were Tantric.

Tantra is something much different: it's like comparing a movie of a car race and racing around a track driving a powerful automobile... or a movie about horseback riding and riding a horse... except that, in this case, it is not a horse!

Just because you haven't doesn't mean anything. There are some that can separate the $ from the experience, as with anything theres the exceptional and the above par, the substandard. To make blanket statements that it can't happen in a commercial environment is silly.
Additionally, learning some principles and having fun is a good thing.

As they say, anyone can have an opinion (well informed or not).

Why not tell us about your experiences, instead?
