When picking a restaurant for a secret date, cheating Torontonians prefer to head further away from home and to larger restaurants for their extramarital meals, a Toronto dating website says.

A survey of more than 3,800 Toronto members of AshleyMadison.com — a site geared at married people seeking to have an affair — reveals that cheaters venture about 15 kilometres away from home on average, favouring The Keg, Terroni and Biff’s Bistro as their top three choices.

Larger, chain restaurants tend to be at the top of the list for cheaters because of the anonymity they offer, said Noel Biderman, AshleyMadison.com CEO.

Let's see how much business drops in these spots now that the word is out. A wide spectrum of choice, from The Keg to Ruth Kris. I'd never think Sassafras was a hot spot. I'll have to pay more attention next time I'm there and see who could be, you know.

It isn't a hot spot but "other women" get a thrill being taken somewhere fancy and don't care what it cost (the more the better the thrill). Wives on the other hand think your money is their money and persuade you not to take them to the fanciest places except on the specialist of occasions.

So you are unlikely to run into your wife's friends unless they are cheating too, provided you have their anniversaries in you phone calendar.

(If your SO has a lot of single girlfriends who are actively dating then this logic doesn't work. So beware. In that case avoid any popular dating spot period.)

Meh. Any of these restaurants could be on any top 10 list. I'm surprised that there aren't more high-end places like Harbour 66, 1800 Degrees, etc., where you'd be less likely to run into an acquaintance.

Harbour 60 is on my list too. Most times I have been there have been with an other woman also.
