Here's a sad story that Anderson Cooper is flogging on CNN this week. Here's the kinder, gentler ReadersDigest version.
When their little preschooler started playing with his baby sister's dolls, his parents were afraid he might grow up to be a fairy. Luckily for him, UCLA was pioneering a new program to teach little pansy boys how to grow up to be real men. The treatment was a success. He never played with dolls again, and he served 8 years in the Army before entering a civilian career. He grew up lonely and unhappy and at age 38 he committed suicide.
His mother and adult sibs are devastated. They now blame his death on quack medicine.
The man who ran the program is a rabid and notorious anti-gay activist. He has cited the boy's case for 30 years as a clinical success, as proof that homosexuality is avoidable and curable. He hasn't been taken seriously since he got caught taking a male escort to Europe on vacation last year.
