I know that there's quite a few of you out there who are on the Plenty Of Fish dating site... So I thought I'd post this email that I just got that's going around. Very interesting....



THE SHOCKING TRUTH ABOUT PLENTY OF FISH SCAM!!!

I was at an IT conference in Vancouver the other day, when I ran into a buddy of mine that I used to go to school with. We decided to meet up for dinner to catch up on each other's lives.

During dinner, we talked about everything. It's been years since we've seen each other so we had lots to talk about. He told me about his wife and kids, and asked me about my love life. I told him I'm not having much luck. My family and friends have all tried setting me up with people they know, but no luck. I told him I've even resorted to on-line dating for the past couple of years,.. but still no luck. He then asked me which site I was on. I told him Plenty Of Fish.

He asked me how long I was on there. I told him it's been about 6 years.

That's when he told me that site is a scam. I told him no, I've met a lot of people from that site... Just no Mrs. Right! He gave me this look, and said, "That's exactly it. That's site is designed for you to meet all the Mr. and Mrs. Wrong!"

I asked him, What do you mean? He explains.

He actually met Markus Frind, the creator of Plenty of Fish, a few times in the past. They have a few common friends. He says that Marcus actually calls his Plenty Of Fish site, Plenty of Losers!!! He says he keeps lots of people on his site, but he makes sure they're all "undateable people", aka, Losers!!!!

For men, he keeps all the ones who are short, fat, bald, ugly, doesn't make good money, have no job, have no car, have several kids... If you fit into any of these categories... Then congratulations!! You have a lifetime membership to Plenty Of Fish!!!

For women, he keeps all the ones who are over 40 years of age, too tall, fat, ugly, have several kids from all different fathers, gold-diggers, unemployed.... If you're a woman and you fit into any of these categories, Then congratulations!!! You also have a free lifetime membership to Plenty Of Fish!!!

Mr. Markus Frind also keep the good-looking PLAYERS on his site. Cuz those people won't be settling anytime soon, and keeps the hopefuls to keep on logging on.... But anyone looking for a serious relationship and you're relatively ok-looking... Your profile will be deleted for no reason!!!

He says he basically doesn't want people hooking up for good and getting off his site! He wants people to keep on logging on so he can keep on making his millions!!! The more people log on, the more money he makes!!

I felt sick to my stomach after hearing what my buddy told me.... That explains why my room-mate's profile "disappeared" for no reason. He's a fire-fighter, good-looking, has good job.... Very nice guy! When he wrote in to complain that his profile was deleted, they sent him an email saying that probably he violated their rules. He checked their rules... He says he didn't violate anything! They told him, in that case, just make another profile. He did, and a week later, it was gone again!! For no reason whatsoever!

So then, When I got home, I went and decided to google: Plenty Of Fish Reviews. I was shocked by the amount of people who wrote and said their profiles were deleted for no reason!!!

Me, I'm short for a guy. I'm 5'6. My buddy from the conference told me that any guy under 5'8, Mr. Marcus considers that guy undateable... Which I suppose explains why he never deleted my profile.

Anyways, I've deleted my profile from Plenty Of Fish now... I don't want to waste anymore of my precious time! And I'm sending this email around to everyone I know, so they don't waste any of their time either!!!

Honestly, I'm so pissed off right now... Someone should start a class action lawsuit and sue this guy for pulling a scam like this!

So many people say the same thing!! Booted off the site for no reason!!!

Anyways, I hope no one else continues to waste their time with this site. I'm now with flirtbox.ca, kisscafe.com, mingle2.com, cyberdating.ca, and okcupid.com

These sites are 100% free as well. I'm not going to stay with all of them... But I'm going to test it out and see which site I like the most.

So everybody who has a profile on Plenty Of Fish.... Don't bother with that site anymore!!! It's a total waste of your time!!

i didn't even other readng through the whole thing, but it's no news or surprise to me. too many people just want to hide behind computer and join online dating crap, CL, pof whatever they are. the real game is played on the street, it's such a lost art to pick up girls on the street, not many can or are willing to overcome the fear to approach women in real life. so many guys dont know how to interact in real world anymore. that's good news for me, less competition!

So what's the scam? If they are all losers they should date each of. Think some hot chick wants to date a loser. Sorry, I don't agree. Sounds like bullshit. I've never tried it, but I don't doubt that many are dating challenged. Sounds more like a disgruntled customer. Lots of married men use it too. Sorry I wasted my time reading this.

I for one am thank-full for the precious time the OP spent typing this info. I had no idea POF did things this way....mind you it is an opinion as I have also heard very good things about POF. I am actually launching a similar style dating site in the near future, and I will strive to make it as LEGIT and FREE to use as possible.

How does deleting users increase the number of people that visit the sight?...I'm having trouble with the whole premise. If you delete all the good looking people they're gone...if they hook up with good looking people, then there's only a chance that they're gone. I don't see how deleting them strengthens POF's business model.

I agree. I'm really glad the OP posted this. I know a few people who are on POF, who are genuinely trying to find someone to be with, and it's too bad this Markus guy is taking advantage of these people for this own profit.

Hmm, good point; Maybe Markus figures that the good-looking people will leave soon anyways, so he might as well just kick them out... But if they were on there, they might take one of the not so good-looking people away from the site that could've been potentially there for a long time? I'm not sure.

But I think I read somewhere that he makes a couple thousand dollars A DAY, everyday that he has his site up and running.

I think there's some truth to what the OP posted. I was on that site a while ago, and I remember clicking onto the "success stories" there, and was surprised when I saw the pictures of the people who hooked up with each other! Let's just say most of them wouldn't be on the attractive list.....

I was on there for about a month, then for some reason, I could not log on anymore and my profile was deleted for no reason. I didn't have more than one profile, I wasn't rude to anyone, I didn't post any nude pics of me... My profile was just GONE!

The post is completely wrong. I have met several women on POF, all attractive, working, etc. I have since started just seeing one lady from POF and we are getting along just fine. The sight works, yes there are some losers on it, but you meet them in all types of circumstances.

Like I said earlier, I was on that site for about a month before I was deleted for no reason. But during that month, I did meet 4 women from that site. In the beginning, they all seemed ok; attractive, working, etc... But I soon found out none of them were serious. They were players, users, just wanted free dinner, movie. So you never know until some time has passed.... Then you can really see what's going on. The last girl that I dated from there, she told me she wanted to be serious with me... But then, I still found her on that site 5 months later when I logged on from my friend's computer!

So yes, they were attractive and working... But they weren't serious about having a relationship. And all 4 of them told me they were on there for 4+ years. If someone's on a dating site for 4+ years and they're attractive.... There's something wrong...

IMHO... Something wrong with the site, or something wrong with the girl

Notice that the first negative quality that he mentions for men is SHORT.

I've known a few people who've used POF to date people and they have all fitted into the loser/left-over category. HOWEVER, those people I did meet who used POF just used it to get a piece of ass and then move onto the next piece of ass and seemed happy/satisfied with the POF service....nothing wrong with that since they seemed to be happy with their value for money.

I've met people who've paid $200 for e-harmony and they are a different kettle of fish entirely. They are all desperate to get married or have a kid and am not into getting pieces of ass for the short term.
