Total stock returns for the five biggest defense contractors since September 2001:

Boeing: 974.97 percent
Raytheon: 331.49 percent
Lockheed Martin: 1,235.6 percent
General Dynamics: 625.37 percent
Northrop Grumman: 1,196.14 percent

These defense stocks outperformed the stock market overall by 58 percent during the 20-year war in Afghanistan, lining the pockets of defense executives and shareholders as hundreds of thousands perished. The only winner here was the military-industrial complex. - Robert Reich

If you bought Lockheed... $10,000 would have got you $123,500...

I own RTX, mostly for the commercial jet engine business.Sold on the cusp of covid - lucky me, and back in once saw world was not going to end and planes would still need engines.

Owned it before the elevators and air conditioning divisions were sold and the merged with another aerospace co.

If you want to see military industrial complex look at san diego waterfront from google earth.
Or better yet on a flight coming in from the east across the pacific into LAX.
