Just finished watching The Malice in the Palace on Netflix. It’s the story about the incident in 2004 where the Indiana Pacers get into a brawl in the stands with the fans in Detroit. I remember this story from back in the day but it was interesting watching and hearing about it from the players’ perspective (along with the cops, fans, and others involved) with 17 years of hindsight.

Great doc. I have always supported the players…… fans feel way too secure crossing the line with what they say and do so I don’t blame the players when an idiot fan has an ass whooping coming to them.
I am shocked Russell Westbrook hasn’t beat the hell out of one yet, they have really gone at him and he’s not the type to shrug it off. He’s had to be held back before.

I live in metro Detroit and remember watching that game on TV live, I just couldn't believe what I was watching. Ben Wallace over-reacted to that foul, then some drunk fans decided they were going to show how tough they are. Security was lacking and players should've left the court as soon as things started getting out of hand. Ron Artest was willing to go into the stands and fight fans, but not Ben Wallace, who once again over-reacted and started "fight club."
