I just got hit by a roller coaster of bad news!
After being in hospital for 2 days and 2 nights I'm told by 4 doctors that they think I have lung cancer as the primary cancer and either bone or colon cancer as the secondary cancer. I suppose I'm still in a state of shock. They did many tests on me but don't have any conclusive results just yet but the consensus is from 4 different docs. Also the fact that I've been in bad back pain, have lost my appetite and have run a low grade fever a couple of times without any other symptoms besides the pain. I don't know how I'm supposed to react or how I should be thinking.

Hey Petzel, bro. I am not good at saying things in these situations, but here goes. I am so sorry that you are going through this stress. I hope and pray that they are wrong. Although it seems like impossible, you need to be positive and optimistic throughout and to do what needs to be done. Fight against this terrible scourge, if you do have it; don't give up without a fight. Hopefully, and if you do have cancer, if and when the results are conclusive, they will have detected it early enough.

My father recently passed away of cancer. He decided to fight it but lost. It all happened so quick, diagnosed late 2011 and he died last month. He fought to the last fucking bullet, and he went down with dignity.

This is coming from my heart: say "fuck off" to cancer. Don't let it bring you down. Be strong. I don't know if this is good advice, but it is coming from my heart. I am still mourning his loss.

Sorry to hear this Petzel. Cancer is a real bitch. Stay positive. Lung and colon cancer can be treated, bone not so much unless you get a transplant.

Sorry to hear this as well. Not only fight and stay as positive as possible, but try to retain as much control over your life as possible. Get as much information from the docs as possible and don't be satisfied with partial answers.

Well here's the other bad part of the news. I have COPD so I only have about 50% of my lungs functioning as it is. Normally they do surgery with lung cancer since it doesn't respond that well to chemo and radiation. They said that sometimes it can take up to 20 years of slow formation before the cancer becomes manifest and that it's the slowest growing cancer that there is. The point being is that they wouldn't be able to remove whatever cancer tissue is left since they're only functioning at 50% so it doesn't leave me with many options out there.

Do yourselves a favor guys and don't wait till you have a heart attack and stroke from smoking all my life like I did. Don't wait for the Cancer wake up call! All you smokers, quit now! I quit in 2005 but it obviously wasn't long ago enough.

Use the time you have left to do the things that you put off before. Try and live life to the limit.

I am sorry to hear about your cancer(s). If you can use it to enjoy every minute of your life, something good will come of this bad situation. In life, sometimes it is quality that counts more than quantity.

A girl in my building has pancreatic cancer, and she's only in her early 30's. Its basically a 95% death sentence surety.

If cancer had a face I'd punch it right in the smacker!! :frusty:

Petzel, have your doctors arranged radiation and chemo for you? From
the very little I know success rate of conventional treatments for late stage
lung cancer is not entirely hopeless. I know the waiting time could be a
concern,

Yes, Seems it is never the right time to quit. Always think to quit soon, another day...
