I watched the Golden Globes recently and thought the entire thing was shameful. Here's a few points
1) Many of the actors/actresses wearing pins and supporting #MeToo and #TimesUp have themselves overlooked the crimes/misdemeanours of people they have chosen to work with. I don't think the world is naïve to think that the majority of people in the industry knew or had some inkling about some of the misdeeds of their coworkers.
2) I imagine some of the people wearing pins are probably guilty themselves of a few misdeeds
3) I thought while some of the speeches were good/appropriate (e.g. Laura Dern), I thought some of the others (and some of the jokes/comments by presenters) were out of place and seemed spiteful. Many people used the Globes to make remarks that should have been made in different forums. There was one comment about equal pay for example where I shook my head (I believe in equal pay but I also believe in a free market and it's up to an agent/manager to negotiate).
