I was at HMV the other day and saw that Hanna Barbarra have released season 1 of the Flintstones on DVD.

I also saw Seasons 1 & 2 (in one package) of the Scooby Doo cartoons on sales at HMV.

Does anyone know how many seasons the Flintstones ran? Also, I'm trying to remember - did the Rubbles have a pet? Fred & Wilma & Pebbles had Dino as their "dog". Did Barney, Betty & Bam Bam have a kangaroo or something as their pet?

Xarir realizes that he'd better get to bed if he's pondering cartoons.

Between a rock and a hard place
Premiered in September 1960 and ran for six seasons 166 episodes ending in 1966. It started out as a brillian Satire of the Honeymooners but the last seasons of the Flintstones were pathetic. To recapture the interest of viewers after Pebbles Mania they added character after character to no avail.
Bam Bam. Gazoo. The Gruesomes. and finally Hoppy

Hoppy the Hoparoo what a stupid pet.

A little extra Trivia:

Did you know in the 70's remakes that Sally Struthers and Pamela Anderson were the voices of Pebbles?

I grew up watching The Flintstones, they're my favorite man, there's LOTS of episodes, how many episodes have they crammed into one DVD and how much do they cost?

26 episodes per season I imagine...
You can fit about 13 22-minute episodes on a disk with standard compression. It's likely a two disk set if it's the whole first season.
