This may sound silly but when I read a SP's web site most of them say "I enjoy the finer things in life". Opposed to what? The crappy things in life?

Don't we all? Is this some kind of marketing strategy I missed in school?

I'm not basing SP's but this phrase is just overused.

Let’s see some originality. Like, “I enjoy being screwed till my face turns blue.”

Now that would get my attention!:p

...i've always found that...

...men and women that are really used to the "finer things" in life see them as a normal part of their day, and never refer to them as "finer". While the folks that write the content for some sp agencies or indies may think that they are appealing to a more upscale client base, the reality is that phrases like "finer things in life" or " i enjoy steak dinners washed down with expensive champagne" probably do the opposite.

I like honesty in advertising (badkat, sasha jones, samantha jones are examples of my fave sites.) and would prefer that cheesy lines get dumped in favour of the real message: i am selling my time with you. if we strike up a great business relationship, dinners and gifts may be welcomed.

Personally the minute I see that line "I like the finer things..." I'm turned off.

To me its code for "my rates are higher than normal because I've got expensive tastes, not because my service is any better" or "in addition to my exorbiant rates, I fully expect that you will lavish me with expensive gifts".....

total bullshit if you ask me....but thats just my opinion.
