as does the Blueberry Fritter, Cinnamon Sugar Twist and Walnut Crunch for a limited time in celebration of company's 60th anniversary. Too late...okay maybe I'll have a Blueberry Fritter for old times sake

I was so mad when they got rid of the blueberry fritter. I even wrote head office and complained. For old times sake I might pick one up. However won't exactly be conducive to my new year's diet. Weekend treat I guess.

I loved the walnut crunch as a kid.

Wasn’t there another crunch one, it was orange or cranberry? I’m digging around in my mind but I’m not sure if I’m misremembering

So basically back when they had the glassed off smoking area and the seats were attached to the tables (I think it’s been since the 90s?)
I do not remember when it was that Tim Horton's stopped making doughnuts in store It was some time just pre or post 2000. I use to like the blueberry triangle things that were big doughnuts without the hole but filled with blueberry or apple filling. I was out of Canada for a while...................over there. When I came back these blueberry triangle things tasted like they were a day old off the rack. I was told that they started making them in a factory and that they were no longer fresh.

The franchisers claim that these factory doughnuts are 2 1/2 times more expensive to sell than the fresh instore ones they use to make. Tim Horton's corporate headquarters are making all the profit these days.

Canadians should actually be holding funeral ceremonies to commemorate when RBI took over at the head of the corporation.

Since then gobs of community goodwill and funding that used to go out now to fund little leagues and charitable causes is busy making its way back to head office in Brazil.

Oh they still donate, but now just enough to get the photo op.

Prefer krispy creme now. Or if you like blueberry filling -polish /European bakeries have blueberry donuts (paczki) and they are mostly around Easter I believe. Can find at some
loblaws too
they might also have them at cops donuts or bloomers

Tim Hortons was on the race to the bottom of the pile before RBI. They changed coffee suppliers to reduce cost. The new coffee did not pass my taste test, McDonalds then sourced the former coffee supplier and IMHO the coffee was better.
As for the donuts, they were a lot better when they were fresh not frozen. Loblaws in Ottawa have donuts from a local baker in Metcalfe. They are dangerously good.

Fuck Tim Hortons.

Their doughnuts, in fact every baked good, everything they sell except chocolate milk is SHIT. They killed it all 25 years ago.

You want good old school doughnuts, go to San Remo Bakery on Royal York Road south of Evans. You can thank me later.

Actually, Tim’s doughnuts went all downhill when they switched from pig lard to vegetable oil.

Mmmm lard….

Vegetable oil is worse for you than natural pig lard. I would love a slice of apple pie where the crust is made with lard.

You may find this shocking, the Tim Horton's coffee at Humber River Hospital is exceptionally good. Tim's baked good all come out of a factory in the sphincter of Ontario: Brantford.

And the apple fritters and chocolate cake doughnuts are amazing at San Remo as well.
It saddens me that San Remo's closed their St Clair Ave W and Earlscourt. Ooops it's still there only called Tre Mari Bakery.

Comparing Tim's Tim's to these two venerable Bakery Shops is like comparing a Ferrari to a Chevy.
