- A man from Nanjing, China (surname reported as Jiao) allegedly posed online as a woman, using the alias “Sister Hong” (or “Red Uncle” in English-media translations).
- He is reported to have lured a large number of men — originally claimed to be around 1,600, though the official number is lower and still under investigation.
- He arranged for them to meet at his place (or a location set up for this purpose), pretending to be a woman, and the encounters were secretly filmed by him (or his setup) without the men’s knowledge or full consent.
- The videos were then leaked or shared online across social media platforms and messaging groups.
- The case has raised major concerns around privacy violation, consent, sexual morality, STDs, and how internet virality treats serious matters.
