The Dallas Shootings- The Lone Wolf dialogue

I realize we have another thread on this but this is a different topic. More of an aftermath conversation. I may just be imagining this(I do that a lot) but is every news story in the last 48 hours VERY much stressing how much of a "Lone Wolf', "Loner" this "single" shooter was. This is not the Kennedy assassination. This is very fresh in my mind. I distinctly remember reports from both officers and eye witnesses stating that the police were in multiple gun battles and that there were at least two active shooters in DIFFERENT buildings. The term "Triangulation" was tossed out in the media more times then I could count. I read reports that they had three( 2 men, 1 woman) other people in custody. Those three people I have not heard about again.

Which is better narrative for public safety right now? The gunman is dead, he was a loner, no associates and we have to try and heal from this? OR, we are sure we have active shooters out there who we can't find. This attack has multiple assaliants and all had military training. We don't know if it's part of a bigger force and we don't know how many were involved? Perhaps they don't want these folks to know they are looking for them? Put them at ease?

They certainly can't say that they don't have all the shooters because every gun toting cowboy in Texas would be locked and loaded at the first thing that moved. Tensions would be through the roof and unmanageable. Thoughts?

I think the police were looking for a suspect carrying an AR-15. They did find him but his AR-15 had not been fired (maybe he switched guns?).

BTW: There is a theory that Oswald did not act alone either.

On social media sites everywhere , particularly in the States, not a lot of people are buying what they are being fed by the mainstream media about the Dallas events, Their cynicism is one of the ingredients increasingly fomenting the inevitable revolution/civil disobedience, whatever come what may.

One reason why some people think there was more than one shooter is because Johnson used "shoot and move" combat tactic. He also had the element of surprise.

True, but I distinctly remember it being stated shots were coming from two different buildings at the same time. I understand with his military training he would have much better hunting skills but going from building to building so quickly?

The building is a parking garage so the shots were echoing in the building. This guy was a veteran of war not a transit cop he saw action not traing people to be police. He is much better trained than the average police officer.

Yeah, watching vids of him using cover to shoot and hide behind those pillars is definitely not the kind of tactics an avg nutcase uses when shooting it out with cops or the public.

I think those early stories of multiple shooters may have been an assumption since he mowed down so many cops at once behind cover, it must have been an organized sniping team. They didn't think it would be a former army vet using tactics at street level.

Think the original guy they were looking for with the AR-15 had offered his rifle to the police to use. The Dallas cops did not seem to have rifles ready, and handgun bullets were bouncing off the shooters body armor. The cops at an earlier protest in another city had armored vehicles and were mostly armed with assault rifles, and the complaints were that the police were too militarized.

Would very be hard to tell if there are multiple shooters once the cops started to return fire.

What is lost in this, is the extrajudicial execution (i.e murder) of the suspect by the cops. He may have been the guy or not. But to send a robot bomb to kill him is WELL beyond minimum force and reeks of someone trying to cover things up.

Really? Seems like a smart approach to kill somebody that is better armed and better trained than any officer on their police force, and who had already successfully murdered several cops.

The had him surrounded, they were in contact with him. If they could deliver a bomb, they could deliver tear gas, stun grenades etc etc. Someone ordered his killing. Perhaps a lawyer was on the way so they needed to get it done...

He was an active threat. They found a way to kill him. Job well done with the robot bomb.

If they carry out an extensive forensic examination, perhaps they can discover whether it was one sniper or not shooting at cops. (The did a horrible job with forensics or crime-scene analysis and preservation in the Kennedy assassination. There's a plethora of circumstantial evidence against that lone gunman scenario).

The lone gunman scenario in the JFK assassination is nothing more than a theory but I'd call it a lie actually.

As tragic as this event is, I would like the military to offer a trained soldier to re-enact what Johnson did in the same time frame.

RE: Militarization of the police
Can be explained by two incidents where LE was outgun and outshot.
1) FBI using 6 shooters (or something like that).
2) Police in LA trying to neutralize two well armed and body armoured bank robbers.

Or so you think. They lost the opportunity to get any intelligence and executed yet another black man without a trial or review of evidence. Maybe someday when they drone some one you care about by accident you will understand the dark side of this sort of policing.

You wanted the to ask the motherfucker out on a date or something?

Kidding. I see what you're saying, but he had already killed 5 police officers. I'd imagine all bets were off, especially if he didn't give a shit wanted to do more damage.
