I read in yesterdays Intelligencer that The Boo has got their permits and such in order and are slated to re-open sometime soon....(The online version of the Intell doesn't carry the story, otherwise I would have linked to it)....

If my memory serves me correct - the "adult establishment licence" notes seating for ~125 along with 20 'private rooms'....

there is also a new name for the place, but I can't remember what it was....and I think it said it was re-opening sometime in the spring...gee, aren't I a lot of help?....

edit...and for those of you who might have missed it, The Docs had a major fire a week or so ago....I'm not 100% certain, but I think it's shut down for quite a while as repairs are being made....so right now, there is just The Cabaret....

The Boo will be known as the "Go Go Club"! There will be 20 "private rooms" upstairs for a VIP dance area... and the only question is will the LCBO allow the patio. I say who give a f*** about the patio my dinking hole is reopening. I can walk home from there in 5 mins. drunk as a skunk!
As for the Docs, it did have a fire, the authorities believe it was arson... and I haven't heard if it will be reopening.

I heard on the radio that the locals are fighting the patio licence...I would be very surprised if the city allows it....which is just as well - there's houses right there beside it...I wouldn't want to listen to a bunch of rowdy drunks every night of the week....

that thing at the Docs...hmmmm..I wonder if Albert Lentini is still involved in the building itself...he owned that building off and on for more than 20 years - and there was always something funky going on there....and this isn't the first fire they've had there....there's been 3 or 4 that I can remember....I recall being there about 20 years ago downstairs watching a band and all of a sudden somebody pulled the plug on the band and all the bouncers and waitresses came running in yelling for everybody to get out....the fire alarm never did go off....and I never did find out why, we just jumped in a cab and went down to the Canadian, but we seen the fire trucks coming up Station St.....
