The biology of cheating women

... and men! Motivated by a comment I made on a SC thread:

If you are a woman, for millions of years of human and pre-human history, it made biological/evolutionary sense for you to get some rich, socially successful nice guy to fall in love with you, wrap him around your finger, deny him sex, and then bang hot young studs all night. Use the nice stable guy's money and status to raise the children of some other physically healthier male.

If you are a guy, for millions of years, etc., it is in your biologically/evolutionary advantage to slip out on your wife and bang a lot of other women, let other guys raise your kids. I think this is the natural human state.. it is why chicks love the "bad boy" types, why guys love NSA sex, etc.

We are all the decendents of a long line of hundreds of thousands of sluts and bad boys who cheat. It's in our genes to get into each others jeans...

My ATF book, Sperm Wars, by Robin Baker, explains a great deal of human sexual behaviour in evolutionary terms. It greatly expanded my understanding of my and others behaviour.

I find sex is a lot hotter when you know the chick has someone else. I don't know why, it's just hotter. One of my mistresses has a BF, and every time I see her she talks about him, and it just makes me hot for her, and it seems to make her totally hot too. Cheating sex is a lot hotter than regular sex.

So now explain how the natural evolution of mankind lead some of us into dungeons with leather whips and chains, midgets, jello pudding, and electro shock wands.

Dude, I'm not saying it explains everything, just that it explains a lot. Cheating happens in lots of species, including all the other ape species. It's hard for me to believe something with that much evolutionary history isn't just hardwired in somehow.

There are certainly good evolutionary reasons for cheating, evolution is all about sexual competion. Humans are moderate cheaters compared to other primates. Gorillas (?) do not cheat much, so the the males are much larger than the females, but have tiny penises and last for 10 seconds. Bonobos screw everyone, so the males and females are the same size, but the males have large genitals and can last for hours. Human males are slightly larger, and can last longer than gorillas - made for moderate cheating.

I find the question of why different people are turned on by different weird things fascinating. It would partly so that everyone is not just attracted to the same thing, but I have not read a really good explanation for all the variety that you see.
