so having been to the CR the last two Januarys

Thinking Thailand in 2013....if anyone else might be interested (esp from Kitchener/Cambridge/Guelph) drop me a line

any locals who have been and could provide some advice---could be couple of beers in it for ya to pick your brains...

if u want 3-4 days of excellent beaches go to phuket

bangkok has lots of options,in many different prices ranges

but most people like i will say Pattaya is the place to be,cheaper than bangkok for accomadations and for pussy

Not much needs to be said other than to go to Pattaya and stay anywhere along the strip. Its 3KM of sex and alcohol - I've never seen anyplace like it in my travels. And, its cheap (other than the flights there, but still try to fly business/first if you can, so you get lay flat seats). The pattaya-addicts forum will explain the difference between gogo bars and beer bars. Also there are street walkers aplenty (but check them out for bones first, lol). And remember you don't have to be discreet or shy about the sex trade there. If you're foreign, everyone already knows why you are there and they don't care. Enjoy the freedom.

Have to say right now, I am leaning towards Phuket...I hear the beaches are better...more to see and do (beside ladies) than Pattaya...

The beach in Pattaya is awful, the non sex-related activities are rife with tourist scams, and there is little reason to leave the highly urbanized, crowded, noisy beachfront strip. Pattaya is only about sex and alcohol; it is not the scenic part of Thailand, it is not the charming part of Thailand.

Also, assuming you transit through Bangkok, the RLDs there are worth a visit, just to say. My opinion of their quality, cleanliness, safety-factor, and tranny-avoidance factor, are in order: Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza, then Patpong.

If you have the time while you are there, a trip up north (pick a jungle city, Chiang Mai or another) is wonderful. Fly though - its far from Phuket. There are small sex trades up north, but that part of Thailand is mostly about temples and nature and charming small cities/villages. Regardless - enjoy!!

Phuket is scam city as well, at least Pattaya has a decent and cheap transportation system with the baht buses. Phuket you will pay $5 and up every time even to go a block or two. Crime against foreigners there is on the rise and the ladies charge more then anywhere else is Thailand. If you are going for the beaches then Koh Chang or one of the other islands is probably a better choice but not much to do other then that.

The great thing about Thailand is that it is pretty cheap and easy to get around within the country so check out a few places if you are up for it and see what you like.

Yes, Phuket would be the place to go, if you are a beach lover.

Bangkok, of course, has the most options for things to do, and hookers, due to its size.

Pattaya has more SP's than Phuket & significantly cheaper than either of the above.

Chang Mai is another top Thai tourist destination with good pooning possibilities.

If you go to Pattaya and want to go deep sea fishing, let me know and I will give you some contact info. They usually go once a week on Thursdays. You go with 7 guys, all the bait etc, is included. You only have to bring food and booze. It costs 1000 Bath, a little over 30 bucks. You leave at 7 am and come back around 6 pm and go about 12 miles out. When I went we caught some really nice fish. Some 20 pounders, one guy caught a huge stingray. It is a good day. Depending on the day, you can get some nice fish, baracudas, etc.
