Whew! Thank God! Someone had to slow down that environment-killing mass producer of batteries on wheels. All the better that it is Tesla themselves deciding to roll back their evil operations. Who says villains can never be reformed?!

I'm shocked. I mean, really shocked that Dutch Oven is happy to see a corporation break labour laws and stop the legal process required for workers to unionize.

Now, to be serious, I've never been in a union, but have worked in an environment where some folks were unionized. And, to be perfectly frank, I wish my side joined the union. The bullshit management got away with for the non-union folks is mind boggling...and quasi-legal. But they didn't dare fuck around with the union. And, while I think we can all agree that sometimes the unions become too powerful and harm the company, most times they help workers and fundamentally improved our society. Without them, we'd all be forced to work 10-12 hours a day six days a week with no benefits or holidays...

Unions have done far more good than harm.

Once upon a time you could get an arm, or you hair and scalp ripped right off, and the company would just say it was the workers fault, and that was that. No compensation. No safety standards. No nothing for the employee.

Like any organization, unions can be shit.

But overall, labor having some ways to organize and get some power balance with management and capital is a good thing.

As for Tesla, Musk has always been anti-union and anti-labor, so doing shady shit to bust unions is what you expect from them.

Yes, management and capital has had it their way since the 1980s with the decline of unions in the private sector.
It is true that some union workers call in sick when they are not really sick.
However, some workers in the private sector never call in sick because things are so tight that their co-worker would end up with double the work load.
