We've just recruited some wide-eyed newbies over to the dark side! What's the general demographic of that board as far as age range and gender mix? I wouldnt mind initiating a little skater girl who's looking to make a little extra concert money!

Careful Sea.... they could say the same thing about us. Their subculture is as bizarre to us, as we are to them. Live and let live, we have some characters amongst ourselves as well.

They seem to be attracted to this Alex D like he is some kind of god. It's funny because if you look at there photo gallery you can clearly see pictures of little kids screwed up on drugs. Who takes the pictures, I believe its Alex D.
These children should be in bed sleeping not doing drugs in warehouses all night.
Any encouragement of this is wrong and irresponsible.

What is interesting is the way the media and others are so fast to judge this type of event (rave) without even probably attending one.
Now, indeed there are young adults/adults that attend raves that are using some form of drug, and there are also those who do not.
There are some people in our society that view the sex trade and being something degrading and dehumanizing to women. You would think that people in a subculture would be more sensitive to other subcultures since we are united in the fact that we are removed from the larger culture. We should support each other and not play into divide and conquer used by the larger culture.
Just my thoughts,

I don't have a problem with raves or clubs. But you should be at least 19 to attend them. These little 16 year olds doing drugs staying out all night is just wrong.
Any encouragement from a magazine editor is wrong in my view. People who make money off the pain and suffering of others is wrong whether it be in the sex trade or the drug trade. Sure these kids are having a good time but what happens when they are hooked on drugs and drop out of school.
Is Alex D going to give them a job at tribe magazine?
Taking pictures of this type of behavior only encourages it and I would not be able to do it.
I have to look at myself in the mirror everyday and I don't know how other people can do it.

I haven't had a chance to read their posts yet ( their board in service at the moment ), but Alex D should be an open minded, cool dude. He used to do graphics out of his studio on danforth for local dance music labels, and artists. He has always been very much into the dance/rave scene, doing photography, almost documenting the culture for 10+ years.
Like I said , He should be a liberal minded person. May be it is just some immature morons stirring things up for thrills over there. Rave culture is about people from " all walks of life" celebrating, is about peace + love+ classlessness and acceptance. Alex should know that.
IMHO if any them want to drop by, by all means. I know lots of sp's and dancers that go to raves... come on in guys, it's one big family here.

Hey, wer'e watching them and theyr'e watching us. Funny how similar comments about each other are coming from different sides. To each his/her own I say. They are all over the music, with us it's the ladies.
